gym 40:00 [3] 4.3 mi (9:18 / mi)

In the fairly impressive student rec. center on the elliptical machine. The first 5 minutes or so were warmup, changing my mind about what to do, etc., then settled into a good rhythm.

strength & stretching 20:00 [1]

various stretches and situps, pushups, etc.

running 24:18 [3]

An early morning easy jog around CSU. Probably not the smartest since it was mostly on sidewalks; knees okay but hip pretty sore. Will probably use the gym facilities from now on since I can't get to non-paved trails in less than 3 miles. Very frustrating since I'm so close to the foothills, just not close enough...

Ft. Collins, CO. Call it altitude training! :)

running 28:43 [3]

TNT on the road...Ran at 4:30 here so I could be in synch with the gang. ;)

Did a very slow 2.5 miles (time includes a couple minutes waiting at lights for traffic) just getting used to the altitude. Perfect weather, great views, beautiful campus. Ran to a local park on sidewalks, then ran on the grass around in the park, then back to CSU. Very flat so threw in an up and back on a small hill in the center of the park. Actually felt suprisingly good - taking it easy was a good idea.

running 1:13:22 [3]

TNT - 5 miles on the drive plus the 3/4 down and 3/4 back up, mostly with Dasha and Alison. Anne, John, Bob, Jim and Clem also there. Started out at just over 9 minute pace for a few halves, but then I had to slow it down and I got slower and slower until I had to walk half a mile in 9 minutes before finishing the last half in 4:45. Felt tired from the beginning.
