Note

Mt. Penn (DVOA local - epunch)

orienteering race 40:50 [3] *** 3.5 km (11:40 / km)

Brown course at Mt. Penn. Worked epunch all day and then went out at the very end. Decided to do brown; it's not one of my favorite parks as there are small rocks just about everywhere. Didn't mind the uphills but the downhills just about did me in several times.

Decided to do the 10k out and back that the guys did Tuesday night. Last mile and a half was really slow but I managed to not walk. Farthest I've ever run without stopping.

hill loop

Did the small hill loop at the bottom 3 times. First time got up about 1/2 way before I had to walk, 2nd about 3/4 and the last time I went slowly enough to make it the whole way. :) Then I walked up the bottom part of the hill and jogged the trails home. Interestingly enough the loops were 5:48, 5:58 and 5:41 - I walk just about as fast as I jog up steep hills.

DVOA TNT - big crowd tonight! Forgot to start my watch so total time is approximate - about 10 to jog down to the drive, 40 to do 4 miles, 10 jogging to keep warm while waiting for everyone to regroup, 10 to get home. Tom and Anne supplied the food tonight - it's gourmet eating on Tuesdays these days!
