orienteering race 2:08:30 [3] 9.5 km (13:32 / km) +390m 11:13 / km

SVO Stumble - Short
Did the race with Dasha and we were the first females on the short; 6th overall. We were quickly in last place heading up the big hill but then started catching people. Clean to every control but one and took what still look like the best routes in the windows to me (acbed, ijghfk, nmL). Moved reasonably well on the steep hillsides in all the rocks and leaves and then Dasha pushed me to run once we were back down on the flats. Defintiely the most fun I've had at the Pine Grove/Hammonds Rocks area yet. The course just seemed more interesting and less "slogging" than any I've done here before and the weather was perfect.

trail 34:00 [3]

Down in the Wissahickon scouting a possible loop for hill repeats for TNT. The tricky part is finding something doable in the dark; many of the trails are covered with leaves and loose rocks so wouldn't be much fun even with a good headlamp. But the short loop I looked at would probably work - there's a steep uphill with lots of rocks and leaves, but the downhill switchbacks and is open to mountain bikes so has fewer rocks and the leaves are pounded done (it's the downhill where I find the rocks and leaves the problem). Did two repeats very slowly and then jogged home.

gym 1:00:00 [3]

26:43 on the bike - the seat post kept slipping and the fourth time it went down I decided enough was enough
20:00 stair climber
13:17 (or so) stretching, situps, pushups, etc.

trail 33:00 [3]

After last night's marathon (I haven't run continuously for 5 miles since I stopped taking those wonder drugs a year ago), I decided to do a medium hill loop at an easy enough pace that I could keep a jog for the whole thing. Raked leaves for an hour to warm up.
