orienteering race 1:23:06 [4] *** 7.6 km (10:56 / km)

Solid race. Bad route choice to #2 compounded by not reading some trail junctions correctly; berating myself in the back of my mind for not going straight didn't help. Maybe a 2 minute loss? No real way to judge without going out and re-running it. But other than that, only a couple of very minor bobbles. Unfortunately, there were several places, especially across the fields, where I had to walk. A lot. Thanks, Ken, for chiding me into running the last bit at least.

orienteering race 41:25 [4] *** 4.2 km (9:52 / km)

One of my best outings in a while. I managed to stay focused for most of the race and went into controls *knowing* I was going to see the flag. The second long leg was not great - got tangled in some green, legs getting tired - but I sucked it up and finished strong.

orienteering race 23:57 [4] 2.65 km (9:02 / km)

Fair Hill Sprint. Wasn't going to run it but glad I did. Brain freeze on #9 - got way left early and totally missed that I had already gotten on the other side of the spur so climbed the next one and wondered why there were all these trails up there. Kept moving in the right direction at least while I figured it out and probably only lost a minute or so.

Raked leaves for an hour. Won't call it training but it's probably all I'll have time for today.

running 1:04:30 [1]

DVOA Tuesday Training. Dasha and I ran together for about 4 miles on Forbidden Drive. Kept the pace at talking speed for most of it (about 11min/mi) although we came back faster than we went out. The extra 20 minutes on Tom and Clem come from counting the walk down into the Wissahickon and back out as my warm-up/cool down. I'm claiming it as training even if the guys don't! :)
