Orienteering 1:52:23 [3]
shoes: Jalas

JK Long - Llllllyyynnnnndddgiiirrr
M21L

Set off first in the thick coud, kind of enjoyed hitting the first one and other starters not being able too see where I went. Pulled up early on #2 still adjusting to map scale. Was completly blase about #4, took a shit route, got completly lost in the cloud, tried to relocate couldn't, then just ran north into hit the gully. Even then it took me an age to work out which gully i was in.
#6 complete hash, despite promising to myself to be more conservative, missed it right at the end by not counting the holes, took me ages to relocate and find it. Pleased with how I did 9 & 10 orienteering properly. Quarry was OK though opposite flow, then started to die through to the end. Kind of like running at night in the cloud early.
Enjoyed it, starting to get my mojo back.

JK Middle Merthyr Common.

Had a few issues starting on time, only myself to blame as I'd worked out what time I had to leave bristol, with zero margain. Then I hit some issues with toilets/start etc.
Was steady then at #4 lost contact, started looking in random holes and had to relocate. Back to a hole which I had already glanced at (2mins). Then a few small misses and struggling to run straight on compass. Then fecked up number 9 big time, got it into my head that I had to go to the top of the hill, had begun to think this was quite a long time when I realeased I had got it all horribly wrong. 3mins.
Then just back, farily steady (read slow) few small misses. Prob total 6mins mistakes. Was won in 29, which was about my expectations.
Reasonble course, but couldn't help wondering if it could've been a bit harder.
Pity I'm rusty and fat, cause otherwise I think this may have suited me.
Felt like I was a "test runner" all the way through, including at the finish, where I had to pretty much force someone to take my map off me.

JK Sprint Swansea Singleton park and uni
Race went OK, a few small hestiations, went left on #2 which I think was the poorer route, max 30 s mistakes all up. Just really really slow. havn't done any fast running in nearly 12 months. Enjoyable day as it was lovely sunny and warm, but sprint area pretty easy. thought kris did an excellent job with the courses, given what he had to play with.

Mon night run, Just Charles and I. Excellent cotswolds way run out and back north from the dog in old sodbury. Felt very summery. A bit tired, but we kept it quite short.
