Event: JK 2012

Orienteering 18:20 [5]
shoes: Roclite 315

JK Sprint
Livingstone, Scotland.

Started well hitting them fine. Saw both gaps to 5, but didn't comprehend the second one. When i got there had to stop for a while and work out what was going on. (30 s). Then small loss on 13 by going right (10 s). Slowed down a bit after this but still cleanish to 21, where i forgot to go back down the stairs. Crap route to 22, straight not left. Missed 24 a bit, really struglling through to the finish. Reasonble result, though a black mark on my KPI.
1 minish of mistakes.

Winner Murray 14.37

Run 15:00 [2]

Primed for the JK.
My sole performance indicator is beating ba-ba
I will also take some satisfaction from beating a couple of BOK juniors when appropriate.

Mapping at UWE.....

Turns out the existing map, is a little shite...
In fact I'm amazed they managed to stage a JK on it. There's quite a lot not on it, some ambiguity, and some blocks which are the wrong colour... Plus quite a few devlopments.
So a bit of a jerry job on updating the mapping. which has taken me ~6 hours today. UWEs a better area than the existing map makes out.

Turns out that OCAD has not changed much recently. On the plus side this means the functions are still pretty much the same as OCAD 5 which I got schooled on. In the negitive; compared to the tool I use to surface aircraft wings, it's a bit limited in funcanality :-)
