Orienteering 38:49 [4]
shoes: Jalas Olway

BUS Relay Bigland
2nd runner for Team Eddie Nicholas

Ed put me out in a nice postion. Af few easy ones to start then into some nice runnable technical forest. A bit sketcy on 7 & 9, but only very small losses. Then really dead up hill to 13, Then coming into 15 way to legtharic and ran round wrong hill, then went up the wrong spur to 16! Really stuffed to finish. Great training. Just need to sort out myself a bit technically, and increase my speed.

Think what happened with the mens relay at BUSA was unecessary. Why is British oreinteering so ambigous on wall/fence crossings. If you can't cross it, put a red line over it - job done. Stops the whole can i/ can't i conumdrum. It's unreal that this debate drags on and on with major events - ie BUCS, midland champs, JK 11 marked incorrectly. It's not rocket science.

WUD
Almost entirlery warmup to try and digest the cooked breakfast. Very little warm down, as I put a sharp rock into my left foot inside heel arch, and it's lumpy and sore. Plus i'd warmed down on the back third of the course :-)

Putting out boxes on Loughrigg for BUCS

Brillant morning, still mostly clear, and sunny. Early morning views were splendid. Did a loop round the high bit, and took in the top for fun.

Run 1:11:00 [3] 10.9 km (6:31 / km)
shoes: Roclite 315

run from ambleside through skelghyll wood, through to Troutbeck, up to the top of Wansfell then straight down to ambleside. Took a bit longer than I thought and had started raining. Great to be out in the fells.

Run 40:00 [2]
shoes: Roclite 315

Collecting boxes in off Loughrigg - Back to being sunny!
Did a different loop out along the hill and down to above grasmere. Nice contour features on the map and really runnable. Pretty tired at the end.

Weston Prom Race

Thought i try speed work, to gain speed. this was a 5 mile race (8.047k). tim had hidden the fact that you actually do two loops... to keep my minimal enthusment going. Anyway nice night, and weston looked alright. Started too quick, I guess, and went from 3.40 min/ks to 4.05 min/ks during the race. You've got to be mentally hard to do these things I reckon. sprinted a bit at the end - and then felt sick.
Anyway pleased to get sub 4 min/k. And a new PB.

Commute

It seems like these traffic planner bods are trying to stuff up my commute. For over 2 years now I've enjoyed a queue free commute. Now they go play with blackboy hill and the downs roads. More traffic lights, more queuing and the suicide crossings are still there :-(

Run 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Roclite 315 Old

Leigh woods,
Screeds of people out tonight, strange as the bath half has already been. Got in the run before dark. Was planning to do some hill intervals in garlic valley, but at the start i was still sore, and then by the time i got down there was quite tired. So sacked it off. Perked up for the run back along the edges.
