Albertia - Legutio, Spain.
Went up to an event in north spain with Carmen of Bath fame. It was really good. The terrain was dedcious woodland, so quick, much like southern england - but much hiller. Lots of point features, apperntly from the civil war. The first few were all up hill, something not quite right on 1/2 but got them fine. then 4 was a slog, and I decieded to cut through the walk, which was a bit solwer than walk, so lost maybe 1.5 mins. then more up hill!! 9 was a bit vague, took it slow and got it just (20s). didn't see the tracks to 10, but got it fine. drifted off down the hilll to 12 (20 s). Then pretty clean down hill ish to finish. 1k or so of dead running at the end to finish in the village. So technically fine, it was pretty easy as the vis was so good. Just died on the hills, but luckily felt better than yesterday.
The event itsself was really good, all the basics right, good map, controls in the right place etc etc... good atmosphere with a drink and a bit of food at the finish and the podium getters got a chunk of chesse!!
It's good to see orientering growing in spain, they just need to work on their nav.. and they'll be a world force. Played tortise and hare with a guy from 4 to the finish, but i didn't really see him that much. Winner was 65.01 I was midfield.
