Orienteering 1:26:44 [4] 10.1 km (8:35 / km) +375m 7:15 / km
shoes: Jalas Olway

BOK Trot - Stourhead

Okish run, nothing too major, though the area was pretty straightforward. Lost maybe 1.5 mins on 10, just due to lack of map reading/concentration. A few other little things, taking worse lines through brambles etc. maybe 3mins of mistakes all up.
Running was ok, but still a bit slower than i would've hoped, hills felt hard.

Not the most inspiring bit of terraine i've been on. After control 4, pretty much just wanted it too end. Just trimmings and blackberry everywhere. Reminded me of JK in newcastle. On the plus side it was accuratly mapped, so at least you had some idea of what you where getting yourself into, but controls like 20, there was no way to avoid the shite.

Snuck in infront of Mark2, about 4/5/6/7 mins back on Matt F, Ben C and Tim B. 20 mins back on Matt C.

Was quite excited that number 3 was the middleditch.

Orienteering race 42:17 [4] 5.3 km (7:59 / km)
shoes: Jalas Olway

Middle race, stock hill

Ran out of start the wrong way , then got going alright, lost time going striaght to 5, rather than track. First big mistake was at 12, I was broadly in the right place, but did a full circumnavigation of the control site before getting it. rough on 14 & 15, hesitant on 17. got confused on way to 21, and then read the wrong code so stood there for a while. WAs on the wrong patch on 22, but realised quite quickly. Then after 23 craney caught me, so i didn't really navigate, but just tried to hang on. Also woke up a couple of units in the middle which is annoying. So not too bad technically for stockhill, maybe 4 mins all up.

Felt flat throughout, not sure why as felt well rested, struggled in terraine.

The highlight of disorganisation was having 2 people on the black starting at the same time. Upon further inspection of the confusing startlist, Scott collier and myself where actually allocated the same start time!

Think it could do with a decent consistent remap, i quite like the terraine.
Good runs from ben maliphant and geoff elliss, getting closish to matt C (36). I was the meat in the kingtim mark2 sandwich.

Run 18:53 [5] 5.0 km (3:47 / km)
shoes: Adidas adizero LT

Decided to do my first road race - 5k.
I've run over 5k before so thought i'd be alright.
Got real stuck at the start but then moved up a bit and settled in behind grace, then decided to push on a bit more and got into a comfy pace with some others, turned and came back, then pushed for the last 500m. Felt quite good.
Pleased with time, aim was to get under 20. Feel like tonight went pretty well. If i was feeling as good again, maybe i could shave 20s off here and there, just be knowing a bit more what to expect, and being rested would help a bit.
PB
split was 9.07 and 9.46.

At 7quid to run along side a dual carrage way, I think O is pretty good value for money.

Run 1:04:00 [3]
shoes: Roclite 315 Old

Mon night run with tim and matt, Nice loop round AC , including some very short bits of virgin track for me. They were a bit quick for me at the beggining, but did a decent amount of slowing down to a more comfertable pace later on.
