Orienteering race 46:11 [4] 5.9 km (7:50 / km) +185m 6:46 / km
shoes: Jalas Olway

Harvestor - Edridge park
Leg 2 BOK team

Our first leg runner was about 15 mins down at the spectator and slipped to 29 mins ddown at the finish, which was completly unexpected, by this time Ifor running for the other team had been in for a long time. And there was a lot of banter in the change over tent. Generraly along the lines of how many legs it was going to be before we past the other team. So I'd like to thank M Saunders, C Daniel and I Powell for firing me up. There was also quite a prolonged pep talk from M Bown trying to keep me under control.

When Clive did come back I shot off and caught 1 -2 min(?) on the oxford (?) team who was at the first control. then did the first 5 cleanly before 6. On 6 I was ticking off everything, but then just never found the ditch. So blasted up to the track junction and came back, and still struggled, very vague (2.5 mins). Rough on 12 and 13 where i nearly lost it and unintentially came in from the top. Then slightly more left on 15 then i intended and back.

4 mins of mistakes alll up. I had the 2nd quickest leg time, 20s behind the swedish team. And pulled up 4 ish mins in the leaders I think. Passed most teams early on and slow and Noc (?) at 15. Good to send out Mark with Ed Catmur, and mark dominated the long night. Followed by good runs from John, Pete and Matt, to put our team only 50 m back on the lead. And tim went out and couldn't quite beat gg. But we crossed the line 2nd. But by this time we knew pete had mpd, so we were DSQd. A roller coaster night. Bring on next year.

We showed even more potential than I thought we had.
And charles that would be 1 leg before we overtook you :-)

Orienteering 23:00 [3]
shoes: Jalas Olway

Hargate forest chasing sprint
Found it pretty vague early on, quite a few mistakes, easier in the last past. Just cruised round, good training, it's been a while since i've run on this southern english woodlands stuff.

shoes: X-talons

Orienteering training, headless hill.
Another excellent, albiet gruelling training from mark2. trains in hilly terraine. felt i was going ok, but legs a bit tired from wkd.At one stage i did almost catch up the british champ :-) but then he scooted off. he seems to be more observant then me of point features, I just ignore them at times.
