Orienteering 46:45 [4] 5.8 km (8:04 / km)
shoes: VJ Intergrator

Scottish relays
Stratmashie - another good area
Was running first leg on the B, with Makr and Alice in handicap +9

Start across the river, and then i worked out that i needed to go left, and none was going left (there was about a dozen people in front), so took the plunge to the left, and then did a check and loads of people followed so phew, then doug Tullie punched 1s before me, so i wonder how many people turned back. Was intouch (ie at the back) of the lead pack until 6, then my physical weakness (and the previous nights whisky) kicked in. I had a long split at 7, and got dropped a bit. Then got caught by a couple of old guys. and proceeded to stuff up the one after the spectator by going down the wrong ride (not as bad as marks stuff up - see below). Was with 2 old guys to 16 where i started to feel better and burnt them off to the finish. probably 40 s mistakes all up.

Came in 2nd to jon musgrave 42.29 (apperntly he used to be quite good :)

Another nice area, real orienteering, not piss easy like South england :)

The absolute highlight of the wkd, was watching Mark S go through the spectator. After going through the spectator he headed down to the road, and crossed the small stream (like your supposed to) and then with water flying everywhere ploughed through a knee deep river (like you wern't supposed to, and noone else had before), only to be seen coming back across the river a couple of mins later. Although an SYO elite later did a similar thing.

Run 1:10:00 [3]

HIll run up Geal-charn
The now traditional munro run after the scottish relays, with Mark. Nice ridge run up, and down the path. Pity it clouded in at the top. I like the highlands.

Orienteering 2:01:47 [4] 13.8 km (8:49 / km) +570m 7:19 / km
shoes: VJ Intergrator

Scottish Champs,
Balavil & Dunachtonmore, Speyside

Good area, used for scottish 6 days before.
Nice technically slope, some fairly hidden controls, 9 was real tough just went slow to make sure i got it. Then messed up the last one in hte technical bit - 17 4 mins, pulled up too early, and then i'm useless at relocating, should've just plouged on to number 4 then it would've only been 2 mins. Lots of elites lost time here, but few as much as me. Then proceeded to do a shit route to 18. Avoided the non- existant marsh to 21 which was slow. Tried to stick with rob baker to 30, he moves pretty quick.

Nice area, maybe 8 mins mistakes all up, felt slow, and struggled with hills and physical terraine (heather etc)

11/22 (lots of DNFs)

Winner Tobias Noborn -SWE 86.42 (a fecking quick time)

Mark2 had problems doing the controls in the correct order.

Run 44:15 [3] 8.6 km (5:09 / km)
shoes: f-lite 335

Run in the warm sun around purdown, felt 5 zillion times better than yesterday, but still not %100. Think i'll be sweet for the wkd.

Run 48:00 [3]
shoes: f-lite 335

Lunchtime run, normal loop into blaise, but cut it short, as one was feeling faint and weak, and 2 had unwittingly signed myself up for a 1 pm meeting just before heading out.

Note
(rest day)

Rest day, as i'm fighting off an infection, might go to the pub tonight though ;)

I think BOF (and all british gov organasitions) should install a fighting beauracy target in staff. The amount of bullsh*t you have to fill in to run an informal event is quite unblievable. I think it will probably put me off organising any structered O in britain again.

Run 1:16:30 [3] 13.1 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Roclite 315

A charles daniels extra special, this involved nearly going to bath. Nice to run through new areas, although was slightly scared some chav might mug me and take my garmin in fishponds.
Felt flat, as we did not go that fast, but i couldn't have gone much faster, I hope i'm felling good for scottish.
