Orienteering race 1:09:06 [4] *** 7.6 km (9:06 / km) +305m 7:34 / km
spiked:8/15c shoes: VJ Intergrator

Buller's Hill, Exerter, Compass sport cup qualify

This map was apperntly used for the JK 1979 relays, unfortunantly i don't think they've updated the vegetation since. The worst mapped vegetation map i've ever run on (not the worst map overall). white was green, green was white, controls in fight etc etc. The highlight was the block of walk on the way to 11 which was an open field. And the mapper is on the IOF map comission....

Big mistakes on 3, near control. 4 route choice - straight and then got into some shite, 7 completly confused at where i came out of green, 13 dodgy track mapping maybe 6 mins all up. And i was knackered, and not really caring - the area was rubbish, so overall pretty shit. and pete smashed me by doing 57... and ifor bet me by 5 mins and 2 other people. I was rubbish, i need a rest day.

Ah yeah and BOK won. And the weather was mint.

Note

Going to dolomites now (had to decied as entries pretty much full) so now annual leave pretty much equals 0!

Kidnalls NGOC league
Another great league event, on a nice technical area.

Felt pretty knackerd after quite a lot of intense training in the last week. Took it fairly easy a few in circle problems max 40 s of mistakes all up. Plus probably one none optimum route choice straight (11 - 12) which was bloody steep 60s. A real hilly course with drops up and down for no point sometimes. I even found some features not on the map, a first as generally ever small bump is mapped!
Vegetation was a bit brambly and ad hoc some map was green strip, some green stripe was white.

Note

Have got DSQd, It would appear i punched the wrong first control. There must've been another one on the similar feature to the south of number 1, just beyond the edge of the circle. I think it would've been on the close one, as i managed to get number 2 fine. If it wasn't for this minor point i would've won.

Run 20:00 [4]
shoes: Adidas adizero LT

Challenger race at work with Tom burvill
Took line honours but only finished 4th which was a bit guttering, considering the other grad team from our year then bet us by 1 sec!! Lost out on the time bonous for how many lollies in the jar.
That first cp we went to involved me biegn fed smarties by tom, so i flet sick for most of the rest of the race...

Basketball 30:00 [3]

Netball (can't be assed creating a new catergory)

Grad boys against grad girls
We won!! I played centre, which was good. Our team went suprisingly well, but we only really won cause the girls got very tired.

Run 30:00 [2]
shoes: f-lite 335

First run in new insoles, light jog around purdown from house.
Left felt good, until foot died ontop. Right foot is high, but maybe thats ok, but roles inwards a bit much. Actual legs seem quite good, with no knee clash.

Run 56:00 [3]
shoes: f-lite 335

Lunchtime run, normal route.

Run warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: X-talons

Warmup/down from mark & alices up road and round the hill to the west to the saddle. Then afterwards back over the top and down road.

Run 15:30 [5]
shoes: X-talons

Hill Intervals in risca with mark and alice. Good session. Really nice scenery (first time i've been up there in the light) reminds me of home. Mint MTB track close by too. Did the backside of the hill. 4 reps
3.48
3.48
3.52
3.56
Last rep was a bit of a blowout, i was knackered and failed to catch alice. Brutal training session. Great to be able to run continously up hill though, rather than up and down some mound in sweden.
New shoes felt excellent.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: f-lite 335

Warm up/down

Run intervals 20:00 [5]

Lunchtime intervals
BAWA field
Did 4 x 2 mins
4 x 1.5 mins
4x 1 min
4 X 0.5 min
with 1 min rest between each

Felt quite good, but breathing a bit funny maybe. Probalby didn't push as hard as i would with other people there.

Got funny new (£100) orthotics yesterday. NOt liking the fact the right hand one is nearly 10 mm higher than the left. This was to correct my supposed leg lenght difference. I did know that my R leg may be a bit shorter than my left. And the ~3mm heel inset i've been using recently seems alright. But the correction in the R foot one seems excessive. Yet to risk using them for running. But tried them at circuits last night to moderate sucess.
They don't feel really clunky like some previous shit ones. The rear foot is maybe similar to previous ones, with odd bits in the front, that will take some getting used to. too big and stiff for O shoes. See how it goes, i can always goo back or get out a chisel.

Run 57:00 [3]
shoes: f-lite 335

Lunchtime run from work.
Smallish turnout today.

Strength 40:00 [3]

Circuits with Matt at Horefield

A bit of a random insturtor and setup, with pyrimids, meaning you did some exercises a lot more than others. Not nearly as beneficial as what i used to do in sweden.
