Compass Sport Cup - Sallowvallets (Forest of Dean)

First event back since surgery. Navigation not overly difficult. Some good route choices to make you think, particuarly at the start of the course. Pretty solid technically early on but then got a bit tired and rough on 7, 8, 11. Took a really bad route choice to 12. Didn't help that the mapping of green was pretty arbitarty, some green was very quick some very slow some white had unmappeed green... , still a bad route choice. Then rough again through 17, 18.

Pysically felt OK, went the distance but not very fast. Something to work on. Hill running also dissapointly bad. Felt good in the terraine, the clean blocks are nice.

Probably about 20 mins back on winner, will see when results come out. Bring on more good O.

Lesson of the day was don't put squezzy in bag directly with O kit - they explode and make a sticky mess..

Run from downs round Ashton court past quarry.

Started out a bit wet and ended up a bit snowy. Had a good time though and didn't see too many people - I think the snow must have put them off. Felt strong for first hour. Last bit i was a bit cold and upset stomach after eating a muesli bar which was odd.

Seem to have lost any strenght on hills which is dissapointing - need to move to a place with bigger hills

Good swim again at Filton. Went with CG. I thought it'd be good to do some training to relax, but when your swimming there's not much to think about just you the water and the lanes. So i was just thinking about the odd events of the past 2 days which was not good.

Not quite so confident about being ready for this wkds event when i see there's 350 m of climb
