Orienteering race 40:00 [4] 4.2 km (9:31 / km)

BOC Relays - M40 - second team, second leg.
Had nothing in the tank today. Tried but failed to read the map well enough, push hard enough, stay on it. Wasn't able to give Jon the gap he needed to hold Barrable off. 1st team in 1st, Our team sandwiching SYO in 3rd! Happy enough....

Orienteering race 1:16:40 [4] 8.3 km (9:14 / km) +465m 7:13 / km

British Orienteering Champs - High Dam.
Oh boy. Worked hard physically by this course, tried my best but failed to run many of the climbs. Tried to be clean and push on. All fine apart from second route choice leg where I didn't even look right which was the faster route by at least a minute to what I took. Tiring and a bit sloppy near the end but no major misses and I am delighted and surprised to be 3rd behind Logue (71:50) and Stansfield (74.42) and in front of many decent guys. I can safely say I produced my best today.

Run 21:00 [2]

A shuffle round the woods. Running through treacle at the end and bod on empty. Lovely day for it, mind ;-)

Fell Race race 45:54 [4] 7.81 km (5:53 / km) +413m 4:39 / km

Dumyat Fell Race.
Squits all afternoon at work so worried I might not even make it to the line. Had a jog about in the woods and all seemed OK. Lots of folk running so was nice to chat and join the throng at the start. Ran hard from the start to try and get a decent position along the forest track, hit the road climb and the wheels came straight off. Empty.
Do I pull out or carry on? Well there's a free t-shirt at the finish line so I need to push on! Tried on the hill but had no energy and walked far too much. Feeling much better on the descent and even re-took a few places. Wilting along the bottom track and very glad to finish.
Great win from GG, Sasha 2nd. Great to see the likes of Kirsty coombs and Abi L attacking the course...might not have had the balls to when they were younger.

Way off my 2011 PB of 41:12.

Easy trial after work. Bod is fine so, sod it, Dumyat here goes. Well, it's worth a T-shirt!
