Hiking 45:00 [1] 1.0 mi (45:01 / mi)

Walk around the ski trails with Ruthie and Molly. Hamstring okay, but sore. Knee hurt coming downhill, probably from funky limping.

O-course Training (Endless Mtns) 8:10:00 [3] 11.0 mi (44:33 / mi)

More control pickup. Had difficulty finding a couple, but we kept at it until they were located.

Had large rock roll under my R foot as I was crossing Mosquito Creek and yanked the injured hamstring pretty hard. Will see how long it hurts this time.

More elk this morning. Then back to Clarion to wait for a bike that got lost on the way from the Netherlands.

O-course Training (Endless Mountains AR) 2:06:40 [3] 6.3 mi (20:06 / mi)

Spent morning at first checkpoint logging teams in and out of Gobbler’s Knob overlooking Punxsutawney PA. Then went down into town and picked up the o-flags from 13 gopher statues around town. Fun street-O.

Later up to Benezette for a b&b break. Our first choice got hit by a tornado last week. This is better because it’s 5minutes from an elk viewing hilltop. Got there at dusk and spotted 8 bucks with huge racks 150 m away.

Meanwhile the racers are paddling, biking and orienteering 350 miles this week. I’ll be back on duty tomorrow.
