Cycling warm up/down (Road bike) 40:00 [3] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi) +50m 7:46 / mi

Was meant to be doing World Mountain Running Trophy Trials with Lucy, but got up, was shattered, got to the place, looked at the hill and went... NO. So nicked Lucy's bike while she ran and went for a ride through Keswick almost down to Grange. Not sure where I went so need to check, but it was about 5 or 6 miles I think. A few rolly lakes hills and a bit of an incident with a cattle grid later I got back.

It was a nice gentle ride, really good and loosened up my legs fabulously for the drive home.

Orienteering race 1:02:18 [4] ***** 5.8 km (10:44 / km) +185m 9:16 / km
shoes: Swoops

Last day of Spey! Had a hideous run. Was an absolute imbecile from start to number 5, then started running properly for the rest of it. Bit of a div on no15 as well. Not feeling to hot from the night before either, I paid the price and dropped my podium place in the overall standings as well. Lesson learnt. Anagach was GORGEOUS as per usual though so shame on me for not making the most of it. (I did get value for money running around like a fool taking in as much as possible :S )

Orienteering race 55:29 [5] **** 6.1 km (9:06 / km) +165m 8:01 / km
shoes: Walsh PB ultras

Day 5 of Spey. Good run, messed up no1, lost a min or so. Rest of it was fine, minus a little but longer on the control in the wrong place (though it didn't take long to find that, just carried on round the corner to the next re-entrant). I did win, but then they took out the legs either side of the wrong control and I dropped to 2nd.

Orienteering race 51:18 [5] *** 5.7 km (9:00 / km) +50m 8:37 / km

Day 4 of Spey 07. Was flying round, well I felt slow and tired, but was flying round navigationally. Culbin is fab, can't wait for BOC next year! Then it all went wrong at the end, lost 5mins on the 3rd and 2nd to last controls. Pillock. I knew to go slower and triple check everything but think I must have been worrying about it all too much to focus. There went another win.

Note
(rest day)

Official Spey Rest Day.

Went to Inverness and played in the aqaudrome thing on the slides and swam about. Then returned to campsite to lay around on the floor... did a bit of makeshift yoga on my sleeping bag then had a caterpillar race with Cat round the tent. (I won :P )

Orienteering race 51:38 [5] **** 6.0 km (8:36 / km) +145m 7:41 / km
shoes: Walsh PB ultras

Third day of Spey 07. I WON! Had a good race, spiked almost all controls I think. On a bit of an adrenaline rush after the bus was late, ran all the way up to my start and ran straight through and picked up my map and off I went. Awesome area to win on as well. Inshriach west is lush! Quite rough underfoot I found and felt quite slow in places, but can't have been that bad :D

Orienteering race 1:25:38 [4] **** 5.6 km (15:18 / km) +230m 12:41 / km
shoes: NBs

Second day of Spey 07. Was not in the mood for it. I knew by number one that this was a drop-day, still kept going, raced until 5, at 5 had such a mare leg I thought sod it, i will just jog/walk and practice technique and save myself for a different day!

Orienteering race 55:22 [5] **** 5.5 km (10:04 / km) +245m 8:14 / km
shoes: Swoops

First of Spey 07 - was a bit rusty, the scale was messing with my head, back down to 1:10000 from 1:40000! Lost a few mins over a few controls from being too high, but a decent first run back at a proper o-event. I was happy :)
