Failed attempt at a run in the sanctuary with Matt. My calf seems to be suffering some side effects of the run of pain and suffering. Walked back. Hopefully a good week of rest will sort it out. I presume 8 days rest fixes everything.

Checking out Silvan forest tracks. A bit slippery in the mud but good fun. Lots of switch backs!

Felt a bit like the adventure park in Chch but the tracks were in good condition and there were lots of them + a really long climbing track (switch back central).

Into Blue Shirt Creek on the Heaphy with Matt and JJ. Freezing cold blizzard to begin with until just after Perry Saddle and then a beautiful blue bird day after that. Lovely ride and good reminder of cold feet on a mtb!

Into the Ministry of Works hut over McKay Downs. Truly awesome terrain for exploring up on the downs.

Felt like climbing a big hill and met some friends to ride with on the way up. Didn't find a sensible way down. Ended up in some gorse. Bailed and headed for the lights of Nelson which worked out very well.

Well this is a pretty sweet ride just out the door. Looking forward to getting fast at biking again over summer hanging out here. Will probably just tick through a few rides over winter.

Felt quite good riding for the first climb but then ran out of energy without food. Feeling fit enough riding to be slightly regretful of deciding not to go race in Altay.

Front brake pads fell out (!) on the way down which was alarming. Managed to fix that with a sturdy stick eventually.
