Mountain Biking 2:00:00 [3]

Out to bottle lake round the forest and home again.

Feeling pretty well recovered from the rogaine now but body is probably still a bit tired so should just take it a bit easy.

Run 1:06:57 [4]

Killer tempo run.

Up Bowenvale to the summit road - 2645 to the top. Around the road to the kiwi, down harry ell, dyers, steps to zeros, home. Stopped kind of half way up my road.

Mountain Biking 1:10:00 [3]

Up Rapaki with Boyd round and down Huntsbury. This was a good idea. Legs feel much better after and I finally managed to get a good nights sleep.

Rogaine 11:50:00 [3] 122.0 km (5:49 / km) +2900m 5:12 / km

Was going to write a race report but Greig seems to be writing a novel so refer to his training log if interested.

Notes for my own future reference:
- Don't drink water to try and cool down. It will only make you feel sick. Submerge self in muddy pond instead.
- Back up navigator is a hard role to play. I stuffed it up big time in this race. Got to concentrate but not question what other person is doing.
- Not having course marked on map sucked.
- Mixed team with fast guy is not so much fun as you don't get to be in control or do that much navigation but nice because you get to win. Think it would be more fun if I sort out how to be #1 backup navigator and sort out attitude
- I need to be more confident. I am not as slow or as weak as I think I am.
- Had very bad attitude for last few hours. Need to learn to suffer happily more.

Mountain Biking 1:10:00 [3]

Huntsbury traverse old dyes vic park. Feeling like it was hard work up the hill. Hopefully cos it was windy. Still haven't shaken this cold. Better take it easy for the rest of the week to minimize the chance of dying in Australia next weekend.

Note (not specifically targeted at anyone... but some poeple should definately take notes): im kind of worried about the rogaine. I haven't raced with anyone who has pushed me to my limit in awhile. Want to try and play it conservatively for the first few hours. Not too conservatively but there should be no breaking. Smash it at night and finish strong. Navigation must be spot on.

Kayaking 1:30:00 [3]

Time on the machine inside practising technique (aka getting yelled at) then met up with matt and la in the river out for a paddle. Beautiful evening.

Note

Anyone tried this style of run?http://www.parkrun.co.nz/hagley/

Looks like a good way to get in tempo training...
