A bit of a mountain mission with mark. Up cragieburn valley to hamilton peak (completely different to last time I was up here when we could barely walk uprightl; this time we ate lunch on top in the sun), From the top went down the scree a bit and then scrambled along the ridge to camp saddle, continued along and down some more scree to lyndon saddle and back to the car. A nice friendly amount of snow around.

Couldnt join the wed night run last night so decided to go today on a lovely afternoon in the sun instead. Parked my bike at the coffee shop then ran up to the takahe and through many tracks in vic park to the summit road. Then around bownvale traverse to the top of mt vernon and down huntsbery.

Knee started hurtin a bit on the way back to my bike so kinda walk/jogged it. Was looking very slow and buggered when Andy and Emily drove past....

Nationals sprint.

I think its fair to say I was not ready for this race. Had real issues with the scale at the beginning and just couldn't figure out what was going on. This was not much fun and sort of spoiled what was a fantastic map and course! I needed a prologue sprint to get into it before.

Was feeling pretty slow around the second half of the course.

Cant wait to do some more sprint orienteering!

Some more orienteering. Again not a good start so I decided to stay in contact with the map and keep it orientated...surprisingly this helped.

ORIENTEERING!!! ARGGG, kind of forgot what to do for the first bit of the course then sorted it out after about number 4. Didnt see some obvious route choices so was a bit slower than I should have been but no huge mistakes. Hmmm most unprepared for nationals I have been for many a year.

Didnt finish lectures until after 6 so there was no way I was making it to the wed night run. Ran down to hagley and around a bit in the dark instead. Feeling pretty good but not a very exciting run.
