running 11:00:00 [3] 35.0 mi (18:51 / mi) +6775ft 15:56 / mi
shoes: brooks cascadia 2

trek in the la sals. best section, great views and trees changing colors. good pace and lots of climbing.

mountain bike 8:20:00 [3] 52.0 mi (9:37 / mi) +5315ft 8:46 / mi

mtn bike to the CO river dewey bridge on the kokepelli trail. when we got back from the trek we found out that boulder had quit with a sick teammate. We were set to have a great race to the finish and push hard, this made it a weird ending. The motivation and pace were down had way too many stops, then slowed dramatically when it got dark.

inline skate 1:17:00 [3] 6.5 mi (11:51 / mi)

skate back to gold bar campground. rough road to start made it tuff going. we moved better after it smoothed out.

mountain bike 8:40:00 [3] 65.0 mi (8:00 / mi) +4068ft 7:33 / mi

mtn bike on poison spider mesa. slow route finding in the dark following painted trail markers. road out gemini bridges rd to hwy 191 to hwy 279. fast pace on the way back to have time to complete the next trek.

running 6:00:00 [3] 12.0 mi (30:00 / mi) +2543ft 24:59 / mi
shoes: brooks cascadia 2

trek/ropes section. mid day and hot.

mountain bike 5:00:00 [3] 35.0 mi (8:34 / mi) +4593ft 7:37 / mi

mtn bike to the la sals. good pace for 3/4 of the way then we all got sleepy and tired. we kept moving and made it to the ta. slept in the van for 2 hr. boulder had slept before this section at gold bar. it was too hot and noisy to get good sleep there, nice and cool and quiet in the mtns and we slept good.

kayak 2:04:00 [3] 14.0 mi (8:51 / mi)

moab extreme expedition. Great race, we had a great team and worked together and took care of each other. Stuck to the plans and had an awesome support crew of Jill and Tom that took super good care of us. It was a strange ending with boulder dropping at the end. We were set to push hard and have a good race tot he finish. Tired but felt good at the end with no injurys and it would have been a tough race if they would have been in.

Start of the race. kayak on the CO river to the Hwy 191 bridge. finished 2 min behind boulder mostly because they picked better lines.

mountain bike 8:25:00 [3] 45.0 mi (11:13 / mi) +5315ft 10:06 / mi

mtn bike pritchett canyon, hurrah pass, jackson hole, up jackson ladder and back. lots of mechanicals: 2 flat tires, stuck brake so I rode 2 -3 hrs and up hurrah pass with brake on, sean dropped himself and bike off a cliff. other teams were around with all the mechanicals but we pulled away near the end.

kayak 3:00:00 [3] 17.0 mi (10:35 / mi)

paddle on CO river. good pace, no lights, saw boulder sk8 by on the road.
