Mapping (Woods) 8:30:00 [1]
(injured) shoes: Salomon XA

CR section 10. Two more problem sections to go. After that I'll be working areas where the old map is much closer to reality, so it should start going a bit quicker. Another nice day to be out; I've been really lucky so far on the weather for this project.

Running (Road) 21:00 [2]
(injured) shoes: 2140 White

Easy jog round the hood just to make sure OK to run (didn't really want to drive all the way down to S-F just to turn around and come back). A bit stiff, but definitely running. If I take it easy, I should be OK.
2 PM

Orienteering race (Woods) 1:26:30 [2] *** 8.9 km (9:43 / km) +175m 8:51 / km
11c (injured) shoes: Jalas Black

SLOC S-F Red (1:15). Ran it easy. Still messed up a bunch of legs. Good course by David Welsh. Frei, Langton, and Wagnon were all absent so it was something of a default victory. I think the second best time on Red was Erin, who was visiting from MN.

Map.

Orienteering (Woods) 58:20 [1] *** 2.4 km (24:18 / km) +45m 22:13 / km

Then did the Yellow course with Yaya. She was pretty tired by the end since it was so hot, but she did well. Did a couple handrail legs completely on her own.

Cycling (Road) 18:00 [2]
shoes: Bike: Redline tandem

Did a little riding with Yaya when we got back home.

CR section 7. Last of the flood plain sections. About as much fun as one could possibly have wandering around in thorns. Seriously. It was such a perfect morning to be out, I really didn't mind them.
12 PM

Note

Kate & I took Yaya to her first Tae Kwon Do tournament. She did well - I think she practices more than most of the Red belts. Took first in sparring with a surprisingly exciting come-from-behind win (scored 2 points in the last 15 seconds to win 3-2). Also placed first in board breaking. She was disappointed to finish second in forms because she did Uke Jang as well as she ever has, but the kid who won was a recommendation Black Belt who did Pal Jang (2 forms higher) and really nailed it.
6 PM

Cycling (Road) 25:00 [2]
shoes: Bike: Redline tandem

After celebrating at Dewey's, we went out on the Tandem for a while.

FatTire (Trail) 1:10:00 [1]
(injured) shoes: Bike:Kona Hardtail

My ex-co-workers wanted to take me out to lunch, so I spent the morning drafting and got in a short ride at CC Lake.

CR section 6. Very slow going in mottled green.

Running (Road) 35:00 [1] ****
(injured) shoes: 2140 White

Intermittent rain all day out at CR. Decided to give the back a rest (the mapping is fine - it's the drive out and back that hurts it). Still about 20 hours behind on cartography, so it's not like I've got nothing to do at home. Did get out for a short run - felt OK.
