This day was one of those time slowed down days.

My pace is just below "I feel like I can't beathe pace". Maybe should pick it up to feeling like I am actually dying pace. That said after 5 the terrain was really enjoyable and didn't feel completely knackered to the long slog to 14 that took us up another massive hill. Started raining sideways at the top after I had scaled a waterfall to get up there. B Grylls moment. Hit a real green bit 16 - 17 that I have had troubles with at Tasmanian events. This terrain no longer freaks me out but wow is it difficult to get any pace up in. Used to navigate by the car wrecks in the mud flat mining area, but some scrap metal dudes have cleaned them up. Shame nothing like a hunk of rusting metal in bush at St Helens. Cramp at 23 so ran through it to the finish. Had to jog on the spot while listening to Johno's comment about being just under the 3 hours.

Orienteering (Aus Sprint Champs) 28:00 [3] 3.4 km (8:14 / km)
shoes: Salomon - grey

Had a scrambled start as a late starter head wasn't really in it. Didn't really look at the map until 6 and regretted the choice of trail running shoes.

Took the western route around the big hill and went ok until 13 (big boulder) - ran to the wring one which was at low tide level and very slippery. Felt really slow through the spectator and picked up a bit around Waubs Bay. Suprised to see Dmitry at 20 and followed him in the wrong direction. Highlight of the day was Miya getting a badge from Le Frog.
