All City Championship 2012

Finished it! When I did this two years ago we did not finish in four hours so were DQ'd. It seemed that few people finished that year, so I thought maybe I'd never finish this race.

Started with CB and two young guys that were faster riders but didn't know their way around town. One of the guys helped me plan the route and we quickly got a good one written down. After about ten miles we had to go down to the "white sand" beach on the river between Lake Street and the Greenway. I tried to convince the other three to ride down, but they wanted to walk down from near the greenway. Since we were coming from the south I took my bike down the road and trail right to the beach and started back up. The others were barely started down by the time I got back to the top. At that point I was 5 to 10 minutes ahead of them and I rode alone the rest of the way.

The rest went well. I ran out of water and my legs were burned by the end, but I was happy to finish in under three hours so I indulged in some of the fine Fultons at the finish. It felt good. Best road ride ever.

Finished 58 of 120 (roughly).

Run with SAP group. Nice morning for it too.

Spent almost the entire day after that landscaping above new retaining wall. Move mucho dirt and moved some of the neighbors sprinkler heads (with help from KH).
