Running hills (Trail Run) 1:42:34 [3]

Went to a local Trail Fun Run today. The official course was 12.5 miles but I only did part of it. It was a pretty hefty climb up to a ridge top. Then I just turned around and came back down. Cold day. The trail had snow on it from our recent storms. Going up I didn't really run much - more like fast pace hiking. I jogged most of the way down, except in places where it was too slippery.

Walked through Schabarum with Joe to check out the courses for next week. We went pretty slow, so it really wasn't much of a workout. The primary excitement was seeing a mountain lion. There was a spot with a significant route choice alternative on the Orange course, so Joe took the high road and I and his son Gavin took the low road. We were to meet up where the routes reconverged. We hadn't gone far when Gavin looked back and said "Hey, there's my dad." Joe caught up wtih us and said he had bailed on the other route when he ran into the mountain lion. As we continued down the trail we were on we saw it again just above us on the hillside. Cool!

I've a had a little cold for the last two days. I felt really poor yesterday, not quite so bad today. So I've been getting extra rest and skipping the training to do so.
