Orienteering race 40:00 [4]

Angry after last night pasting. Went hard from the start, was working well, quite easy nav. Then brain started fading and was well distracted by Karyn, didn't slow down even though I knew something wasn't right. 1min.
Then pushed hard again...and definitely a case of lactic acid brain at the 3rd to last 30 key seconds here. Dead into the finish which cost me another close beating from Mr Bown. Geoff got me good too.
Over all pretty amped by good courses and very motivating, as I can easily see winning time with a touch of fitness.

Well this was a very enjoyable but bad performance. Was conservative but still made mistakes. Mistakes turned into huge, wondering messes and conservative start still lead to massive physical fade after an hour. Top guys 25 min in front and I can't even see how they did it. Feeling bummed out and agitated, didn't sleep. Have to admit that my night navigation hasn't been very good. Will need to work on that if I'm to compete. Only bonus was beating Keith by 10 sec. Lucky, I'm sure he would have destroyed me last year if we were on same course. Cool map and course, I did really enjoy it.

First time I've felt all right on a Monday for a while. Calves still a bit tender but recovering. did 8 * 30m accelerations in Anstey park to loosen things up.
