Note

Today I picked up my CPAP that will treat my obstructive sleep apnea. The machine is simple to use but I got a ~45 min brief before I could take it home. My first nap with it lasted an hour, then I took it off because I was uncomfortable and went back to sleep. I think I will get used to it over the next couple of weeks, though. The mask covers my nose only and part of the machine is a humidifier.

Despite my initial discomfort, my initial Band sleep readings reveal that in that hour half of it was "restful sleep" as opposed to my last night's sleep without the CPAP, which was a half hour of "restful sleep" in four and a half hours of sleep. My awake time also decreased dramatically. In other words, I can already see that my sleep quality is much better with the CPAP. I'm excited for the sleep improvement that the CPAP affords.

Also, as a medical device, it does not count against my carry-ons, so I can take it with me to West Point for my sleep over the weekend.
