Teering race (NSW Champs) 50:46 [5] ***** 6.53 km (7:46 / km) +150m 6:58 / km
ahr:150 max:168 spiked:13/13c shoes: Inov8 OROC 280

Gumble Pinnacles, Long Distance, M55,1st. Okm 5.8/175m. Great area and course. Ran well but still not flat out.
I'm claiming a spike at 2, because I went straight to the right spot but didn't see a boulder, went over and checked a nearby one, turned around and went back to 5m further down the cliff from where I had been where a rocky protuberance in the cliff shielded the flag from my previous vision. So lost 30 seconds there and that was the only mistake I made. There will be a few slower splits due to lack of fitness (1, 6, 9,10) or caution (11).
Splits: 1- 4:58, 2- 2:17, 3- 1:28, 4-1:44, 5- 9:37, 6- 4:55, 7- 1:00, 8- 1:30, 9- 5:43, 10- 2:55,11- 7:59, 12- 4:06, 13- 1:17, F- 1:18.

Teering race (NSW Champs) 33:21 [5] ***** 4.26 km (7:50 / km) +114m 6:55 / km
ahr:152 max:170 spiked:13/19c shoes: Inov8 OROC 280

Kahlis Rocks. Middle Distance. M55, 1st. Okm 3.52km/135m. Good course, mostly downhill which suits my level of fitness.
Small miss at 2, just took a few steps too far but kept looking at the rock behind me and out the flag popped.
Stopped too early at 4, but eventually worked out I could see the flag from where I was.
Went wrong side of the cliff at 7.
Biggest time loss was at 8. Overshot and tried to relocate. Couldn't, looked a bit harder and spotted the side of the flag behind me. Possibly 30 seconds?
Again wrong side of the cliff at 9.
A bit unlucky at 14, just drifted left.
Wow. I don't actually remember getting 15 and it doesn't look familiar.
Must have been a time warp at 17. It took me 2:45 to run 100 meters straight to it. Ok it was uphill and I struggled but still. EDIT GPS says I took 1:15 for this leg - the SI unit wasn't synchronised.
Interesting splits apart from the synchronisation issues (lots of units were set 1:40 too fast after about no. 11). At no. 8 I was in 4th place, but came home well from there, in particular with the fastest split by some margin on no. 15, the control I can't remember.

Bobbin Head via Pacific hiway. Not quite better, but good enough not to tick the sick box. Climb - 13:18, back in the normal range but a minute off the quickest time, much of which will be fitness.
