Nav Dash. Ran OK, but very hot day again affected me from about 10 on. Wrenched L patellar tendon taking a big step near 4, and ran gingerly until 7 on it till it freed up. Only now, looking at the map do I see that 7 was redrawn - I didn't pick up the 2 circles on the day. We had been told about that but I had concentrated on "Take the road to 7", which meant a big detour through the sandpit instead of running past 1. However, didn't lose any time. Carried compass but didn't look at either it or the control descriptions all race. Saw Craig coming at 10 (started 1 minute and a bit after) and held him off till after 17. However, that led to my only real time loss (30 seconds) at 19 when I was watching Craig, not my map. Went to the wrong stairs, climbed up to the first flight, realised that the other 3 people including Craig, had disappeared and it had gone very quiet, so back around the corner to the down stairs we had run past. Tried to catch back up to Craig by going right of the Church instead of Craig's left, but it was hopeless. Really struggled after that in the heat.

Reasonably quick. A bit tired and sore, probably from less sleep (went to the Somerville to watch M. Pignon in L'Emmerduer) and the run yesterday.

Floreat. Nice morning, full moon setting. R knee hurt walking down the stairs, so put in orthotics - first time for a while on the bike. No knee pain during the ride. Kept up on the hills and made an effort in Dalkeith and at UWA. Cracked on KP hill though.
