In case anyone was curious about my running speed, Attackpoint has listed my finish chute split as a mistake.
10 AM

Orienteering 55:00 [3] 3.0 km (18:20 / km)

WCOC Middle
The walk to the start made me think I wouldn't be doing much running today and turned out to be true.
It wasn't AS bad as it looked, but it was still rough and soft enough to keep me strolling for most of it.
A little error at #3 on a short, vague leg followed by a huge one at #5 doing a 90 out of #4 and ignoring my compass until I had no choice to admit I was not in the right place. Clean but slow through the complex depressiony area.
Thought I might pick up the pace towards the end, then instantly fell on a fallen pine tree (reminisient of the 2014, shin bone revealing injury) and had to give myself a talking to that I wasn't here to compete for any sort of glory.
Sweet tourist leg to CP12 had us cresting a ridge to a panorama view of the mountains, followed by the most challenging part of the course for me, the rough, steep descent to the final control.
Enjoyed it a lot, but also very happy that I was not going to be doing 9km on the Long in the same area the next day.

Orienteering 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)

WCOC Sprint
Well, that wasn't what Sprints used to feel like. You know that feeling when you're on a Long course and you feel totally spent and think 'I must be almost done', then you unfold the map and realise you're only 1/3 of the way through.
That's what happened today, except it was after about 1km.
Forest Sprint in Bragg Creek. Nice open woods, tough running for me with the soft, mossy ground and occasional deadfall.
Realised at the start I had my Southern Hemisphere compass, which made staying on line in relatively flat forest very tough, so aimed off a lot to nearby trails, but still a few embarrassing punter errors (a 90 degree error out of the start triangle being the worst).

Running - Trail 25:00 [3] 3.2 km (7:49 / km)

Summer Rally. Tour guide.
2 days in a row....
How the fuck did I ever do this daily?

Running - Trail 45:00 [3] 6.0 km (7:30 / km)

Out on X-League #1 at Westdale.
Wanted to see if construction had started yet (hasn't).
Beauty evening, took a Ginger Valley trail route down to Princess Point, then back via Kay Drage and the Cathedral. 10/10 would do again

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 3.0 km (20:00 / km)

Pre Jungle Gum.
Set some K2-tervals for Kim and Bren. Shadowed Kim on 2 of them.
Long time since I've been on the slopes of K2. 2 sets of terrifying MTB trails have appeared which is disappointing - don't seem to be getting much use though.
Knee great on trails, not loving steep & slippy downhills.
