With Hammer on the Christie trails. Nice to turn the legs over, calf still a bit sore.

MOM Run #1. On the vehicle track around the quarry lake. But, it was nice and short. 5th back, but 2nd out of transition due to not having to deal with stupid bike shoes.

Cycling 58:56 intensity: (3:02 @3) + (54:32 @4) + (1:22 @5) 17.46 km (17.8 kph) +235m
ahr:161 max:174

MOM bike. So this was my first ever 'real' MTB race. (I don't really count the Chico 24 hr a few years back as I wasn't really trying to race then).
Went pretty good, stayed on for the most of it. Generally let people past when I could.
What I found was that my general speed on the trail and even in the technical rocky/downhill stuff isn't that far off, it's the general bike handling that I'm bad at. I'd be with a group of people easy, then as soon as we'd hit a few quick turns, I'd instantly drop off the pace. I guess that's just an experience thing.
Got a really bad calf cramp on the first lap which I had to get off for and stretch out.
10th at the transition, but 9th out :) Stupid chumps in bike shoes.

Running - Trail 41:43 intensity: (12:37 @4) + (29:06 @5) 8.72 km (4:47 / km) +135m 4:26 / km
ahr:173 max:182 shoes: MT 1010 2014

MOM run #2. Half on exposed vehicle trail (not fun) and half on the Kelso BT trail (fun).
Clearly I've forgotten how to race. Passed a few people early, then settled in behind one of the other duo racers. After about 5 mins of enjoying the trails and the views, one of the tri runners bolts past and I realise, I could be running a lot faster!
Then another guy catches up and I realised, crap, I could be running a lot faster! So I stick with this guy for a while and slowly pull away, though he catches back up and passes me in the finish :/
That final 2k around the lake again was not fun.
Really happy to be doing a high intensity race again, had that good exhausted/tired feeling all day. I didn't realise how much I missed it.

Some BTing with menzies up at Limehouse. Since nice stuff and a little overgrown, nettle-y stuff as well.
Finished through the Limehouse Conservation Area, checked out all the cool stuff there

Running - Trail 26:58 [3] 4.46 km (6:03 / km) +75m 5:35 / km
shoes: X-Talon 212

Quick section of BT on my way to Ancaster from the afternoon in Pelham/St. Catharines.
Pretty typical section, some beautiful single trail through open woods, some tip toeing through escarpment rubble, some overgrown boggy bug sanctuary and a waterfall.

Running - Trail 53:30 intensity: (3:23 @0) + (12:24 @1) + (34:19 @2) + (3:24 @3) 6.4 km (8:22 / km) +199m 7:14 / km
ahr:117 max:143 shoes: X-Talon 212

Somewhat cruisy run with #turdo and Lizard, went out just after the downpour, so damp but a whole lot cooler.
Borer's Falls loop - really overgrown below the escarpment. Shin all better.

Cycling 2:00:52 [3] 24.85 km (12.3 kph) +399m

Super good MTB on Canadia Day (that's how we Australians pronounce it). Warren Park, Weirs Lane, Christie Trails and back on the Spencer Adventure. Got some sick air of the rollercoaster on Ebb and Flow.
Highlight was #turbo trying to use his phone while covered in plastic with commentary from Super. Come back any time.
A little broken afterwards, think it was salt loss from the heat.
