Sulphur Springs 100 Mile Relay Take #3.
Finally happy to get the sub-90 monkey off my back. Think I may have been able to squeeze a little bit more out, but I'll take it.
Wasn't feeling as strong on the hills as hoped, but is was enough. Team #1 was the fastest and most attractive, as predicted.

Running - Trail warm up/down 17:07 intensity: (22 @1) + (4:30 @2) + (8:01 @3) + (4:14 @4) 2.81 km (6:06 / km) +63m 5:29 / km

Easy cruise around the Brock trails with 5x1min surges thrown in the middle.
Got stuck in the some twisty single track through the middle which was tough to get the speed up, but found my way out in the end.
Not the best pre-race run I've ever had, but it was good enough. Felt strong on the climbs and fresh and flow-y by the end. Good signs.

Short one in the Deeve. More (now unnecessary) heat training.
4x4mins with 1 recovery. Clearly not warmed up properly as the first 2 sucked, but improved on 3 and 4.
Also went straight after lunch which didn't help.

Quick one in the Deeve after getting home to blow out the cobwebs.
Upped the pace along Sulpher Creek, Main Loop and K2 to keep it honest, but not a lot of gas in the tank.

Finish off the weekend with an amazing solo loop though Duncan Crevice Caves. More than one, 'are you effin' kidding me' moment, but this took the cake.
So much cool stuff, Metcalfe Rock and Pinnacle Rock were epic. Big cliffs, sheer drop offs and surrounded by all sorts of cool crevice-y fun times. The highlight was coming back of Metcalfe and returning via the Chuck Grant Side Trail. Firstly dropping through the escarpment was a boulder scrambling, twisty, turny adventure - then you come into the area below, looked like a Trillium Bomb had been let off.

I had the biggest grin on my face for the rest of the run.
Stopped at the Ravenna Country Market on the way home. What a find! Amazing sandwich and picked up a Strawberry Rhubarb pie for desert. D-Bag and Filona had also picked up one on the way through in Creemore - great minds think alike!
