First full smt this year I think, between the Plague and trip home it's been a long time since I've spent this long in the Deeve.
Felt OK considering it's been so long and I feel so out of shape. Sulphur Springs training starts for reals this week.

Morning run with Dr. PBV in the Valley. Mostly off-trail, but when we had to, the trails were in OK shape.
K2, Groundhog High and Skunk Hollow - all acceptable. Some ice, but we discovered that if you run parallel to the trail in the snow it was OK.

In search of a non-icy trail, stopped by a dinky section of BT on the way up to Brampton with a side trail option if the running was OK.
Probably 20% ice skating, any sidehill section of trail was brutal, but a lot of sections where you could jump to the side and clomp through crusty snow.
Nothing to write home about, but would make a nice extension on an out and back from Calcium Pits.

Running - Trail 45:00 [1] 6.0 km (7:30 / km)

Down to Princess Point and back twice with ARX.
Still an epic rink of terror. Fell hard, even with spikes.

Running - Trail 15:27 intensity: (50 @1) + (7:54 @2) + (5:31 @3) + (1:12 @4) 2.54 km (6:06 / km) +17m 5:54 / km

Pumped to be finally have the time to do a daytime run from home, but huge fail. Local trails are all ice, all the time.
Ended up having to go off trail through the woods to get up the hill to Churchill, which was actually pretty fun. Probably should have just kept doing that, but was worried I'd be spied by an RBG flunky.

Down at St. Cathys for an ARK info night. Planned a TNT style session, but fell on my arse on black ice within the first minute, so just settled for a short Bruce cruise.
This section won't win any awards for most picturesque section of trail, but some nice stuff to see along the way.

Note

I could possibly log some training from the OTL weekend (obviously building the structure below took some strength work), but I think it's better off having a gap in there.

Running - Street 26:53 intensity: (15 @1) + (4:15 @2) + (21:19 @3) + (1:04 @4) 4.44 km (6:03 / km) +13m 5:58 / km

Token Cottage run. We'd headed into Elmvale to find an open beer store and wireless, so after a bit of back and forth (do I run the whole way back on boring roads vs do a long frustrating posthole run on the nearby trail) I got dropped off part way and ran back.
The hope was to get on to the lake and run back through the middle, but it seems the entire south side is blocked by private property - so road running it was.
Beauty day, sunny, still, clear and fricken' freezing.
