Running - Terrain race 1:35:00 [4] 18.5 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Inov8 BareGrip 200

Tough Mudder - Michigan/Ohio edition.
Fun race, glad I came down and did it. Very similar to Tough Guy in the UK, but some of the obstacles are a little more challenging.
Failed on the monkey bars, there was no way I was going to be able to do it with wet hands, but other than that it was smooth sailing.
Felt pretty good the whole race. Since I started in the second wave, crowds and queues were an issue early once I caught up to the back end of the first. I actually started to get cold at one point, so gave up being polite and just ran around people.
Ran though most of the first wave by the 75% mark, it was quite eerie at that point since it was a long way from the crowds and you were by yourself. Calves cramped up on the second last obstacle - pulling myself up the greased up quarter pipe, thank god for all that core.
Finished 5th (I think, no timing or results kept), which I'm happy about considering I started 20 minutes behind the leaders. Qualified for 'Toughest Mudder' at the end of the year as well.

Would I do another one, yes - especially with a group of friends.

Did a test run of the COC Middle for the first time on the new map.
Pretty awesome update, but still got bamboozled a couple of times. Good course - after all this dry weather, still got epically muddy!

Orienteering 25:00 [1] 3.0 km (8:20 / km)

Two laps of this weeks ARK Nav course. Very impressed how good some of these kids are at the Nav - all of them are 11 and under and many are so confident off trail. Fun!

Fun pre ARK trails with the Tanned Bullet.
Was raining when I started, but cleared almost instantly so was way overdressed. Hung a few flags at the end through Canterbury.

Relocation training with Hammer at Mono Cliffs on the way back from an ARK meeting. My new favourite Caledon region map. Sweet open forest and cool negative features.
Successfully got Hammer lost - I think that's going to be one of my top ten orienteering achievements of the year. Epic blizzard - fun times!

Hanging ribbons at Rocky Ridge to begin with. Terrible.

The running #4 onwards of the Middle course. Much better at a higher pace and ribbons out. One big flub to #9, ended up in an area of dark green definitely missing off the map. Otherwise, good flow and speed, especially as I was compass-less.

Totally crashed this afternoon - got trapped on the couch by a dog. Guess the last couple of weeks have caught up with me!
