Running 1:25:00 [3] 13.45 km (6:19 / km) +363m 5:34 / km
ahr:150 max:177 shoes: Brooks Cascadias

Longer than usual run with the orienteer formerly known as Smythie. Also Em for the first 5 minutes.
Howrah Beach, Tranmere Hills, Waverly Park and back. Still not feeling great - hills were a real struggle, but better than the previous couple of runs. Schmitty was in rare form, complaining, whingeing and suggesting shorter routes after about the first 20 minutes.
Ankle had a bit of swelling and was sore afterwards, was a bit worried another infection had got in but it's gone back down now so must have been in response to the length of the run - will probably take it easy till my next doc appointment.

Note
(rest day)

Weather enforced rest day. Have to keep the dressing dry and considering it seems to have rained for 8 solid hours today and doesn't look to abate any time soon...
Shower clearing my arse.

Running 29:02 [5] 6.5 km (4:28 / km) +169m 3:57 / km
ahr:180 max:188 shoes: Triumphs v2.0

Rocked up to Hanny's time trial on the pipeline track. Have missed the first 2, so it was a 6km today. Or so they say - I don't trust the Garmin on this part of the mountain, but I do know the turnaround was well past where the 3km marker used to be.
Not really fussed though, good to do another hard session even if I felt pretty crap - was defo slower than I can do. I think I need to learn how to run fast again.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Triumphs v2.0

Warm up along the pipeline track in the other direction to the saddle. Wasn't feeling the best.

Running 56:00 [4] 9.3 km (6:01 / km)
ahr:158 max:189 shoes: Kayanos

Intervals on the domain.
Same session as I did last time I was up there - 4x4mins with 2 min recovery, increasing pace every minute on the 2nd and 4th. Then 4x1 min, 30 sec recovery.
Tried to take it a bit easier and the foot held up well, but the dressing started to come off with all the sweating - was a bit warm.
Splits for the 4 minuters: 1.0km, 1.1km, 1.0km, 1.2km. Bout the same as last time.

Running 42:58 [3] 7.45 km (5:46 / km) +164m 5:12 / km
ahr:151 max:170 weight:78.8kg shoes: Kayanos

Dr was pretty pleased with the holes progress, so did a full run.
Felt pretty damn ordinary for most of it, needed to have a bit of a rest after 15 and 30 mins, but felt OK towards the end. Think it's food related, my appetite hasn't caught up to the fact I'm running again - 2 weetbix and a piece of bread isn't enough to run on at 5pm.
Beaut evening for it. Will attempt intervals tomorrow if feeling better. Time to scoff some more food then...

Sunday Dec 13, 2009 #

Running 35:59 [3] 5.99 km (6:00 / km) +38m 5:49 / km
ahr:149 max:175 shoes: Kayanos

Getting better... Bellerive and Howrah Beach. 5 mins on, 2 mins off.
Taking a while to get going but after about 20 mins felt normal, even strode out in a few places where possible.
Physically felt a bit tough in places, HR was pretty high at times but I suspect this'll settle down once I get a few more runs back under the belt.
Pretty pleased how quickly things are returning to normal, at one point I was considering crossing over to the dark side and getting a roadie.
