Running 39:00 [3] 8.2 km (4:45 / km)
ahr:145 max:157 shoes: Brooks Glycerin

Back in London for the weekend to pick up the rest of my crap. Absolutely beaut day, so headed out for the classic Thames/Barnes loop. Have to say, where I was in London was much better for running than where I am in Cardiff, but the level of inconsiderateness (is that a word) of other track users is far worse down here - probably just an extension of your average Londoners rudeness.
My rules are walkers should give way to runners and all give way to cyclists. Walkers here seem to think we should all go around them, which makes for some difficult situations when runners and cyclists going in both directions are all trying to get by on some of the narrow sections. Interestingly, this is learned behaviour - kids (as long as they hear you) will always go out their way to let you past.

(rest day)

Kinda wishing I was heading to Queensland today. I need a holiday.

Running 50:00 [3] 10.8 km (4:38 / km) +70m 4:29 / km
ahr:145 max:161 shoes: Saucony Triumphs

Great evening run - went down to the bay and across the barrage, felt like crap but conveniently the bridge was up so had a couple of minutes break. A few nice ks along the river, the Marina and some park behind Ikea. Bit crap at the end through Grangetown, but I've gotta get home somehow.
First cloud free day since I've moved, when he suns out it's just like one of those perfect still winter days in Tassie - clear sky, warm in the sun but pretty cool once the sun goes down. Actually made me a little homesick.

Running intervals 27:00 [4] 6.0 km (4:30 / km)
ahr:150 max:179 shoes: Saucony Triumphs

Couldn't get a lift to the track so did 6 x 800m with 200m jog recovery up and down the Taff trail. I wish I could push myself harder when I do these solo, but can never get the same pace when in groups.
Splits 2:59, 3:02, 2:53, 3:00, 2:55, 2:51. 2nd and 4th required a lot direction change and roadworks dodging.
My flat mates tell me I'm 'weird' about running. However, coming from 2 people who own Star Trek DVD box sets, weird is subjective.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] 3.2 km (4:41 / km)

Up to ol' taffy

Note
(rest day)

Had planned a lunch run, but I'm exhausted and continually hungry - think the chase took it out of me more than I thought.

Running 37:00 [3] 7.5 km (4:56 / km)
ahr:139 max:150 shoes: Saucony Triumphs

Funny kinda recovery run. Felt I was going really fast, but slow pace and low HR say otherwise.
Up the Taff and loop of Bute Park - found some nice single trail along the east bank of the Taff - excellent. The park has signs saying it closes at 6:45, but I saw people jumping the gate on the bridge entrance so decided to do the same. The place was packed with runners and it turns out only the southern gates are closed then, the one in the North looks like its always open! Very odd.
