Running 45:30 [3] 8.2 km (5:33 / km) +300m 4:41 / km
ahr:141 max:169 shoes: White Asics

Spent the weekend in Edinburgh with the folks. They decided to visit museums and stuff in the arvo so I got a leave pass and was able to go explore Holyrood Park.
If this run has proven anything, its that London has removed any sort of hill ability I had. I mean, the place was steep, like running at walking pace steep in places, but still - massive strugglefest.
Absolute cracker day, I think mid 20s and not a cloud in the sky. Really rate Edinburgh, considering moving there next year.

Running tempo 1:02:00 [4] 14.0 km (4:26 / km)
ahr:153 max:176

Wasn't going to make it to the Windmilers run due to taking 3 hours to get home and not being keen to race back through the traffic on my bike in the rain, so did a tempo run I did a couple of months ago alternating 5 and 4 min/ks for each k.
Felt good for most of it, had to really force myself to slow down for the first couple of slow ones. Didn't really plan the run well as it went past the outside of Fulham Stadium just as some big match was starting (google reveals it was Ireland v Columbia!) and the entire street was packed out. Felt a right git amongst all the football louts in my kit.

Running race (London Fiddlers) 17:53 [5] 4.8 km (3:44 / km)
ahr:170 max:185 shoes: Saucony Triumphs

2nd of the monthly 3 mile handicap. Kind of frustrating as it's a 2 lap course, you're constantly zig zagging through slower runners. But pushed as hard as I could, legs were feeling heavy after the last couple of days - I think I can do faster than that. Still took over a minute off my last time.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

All the usual warm up stuff. Includes riding to and from the windmill. Didn't stretch afterwards as had an appointment with a pint and a chunk of beef wrapped in bacon.

Running 33:00 [3] 7.0 km (4:43 / km)
ahr:141 max:165 shoes: Brooks Glycerin

Short run to break in some new shoes and get out in the wind and drizzle. Not many people out today, unsurprising considering the weather.
Had a very big muppet moment coming off Hammersmith bridge. Did a 180 to get down onto the towpath, my feet went right out from under me on the slippy footpath and I went flat on my arse/back right in front of the traffic/people sitting outside a pub. Gold.
The right calf has been feeling a bit sore of late - not painful, it's just an annoying sensation... just something to watch I guess.

Running 1:51:00 [3] 23.5 km (4:43 / km) +150m 4:35 / km
ahr:144 max:171 shoes: Saucony Triumphs

Really good long run. Hadn't planned on going this far, but after the first 10 mins I was feeling really good so decided to turn it into a longer one. Just kept it steady and pushed on the hills (all 3 of them).
Got caught very short about a km from the exit of Richmond Park (which thankfully, had unlocked toilets). Don't need to go into details, but my pace in this section could be described as impressive.
After this short break I had a little trouble regaining my rhythm through Wimbledon Common so had a go at something new and increased my pace through for the last 20 mins. It actually worked really well - usually by the end of these runs by knees start to get sore, but it felt really good at an increased speed.
I had planned on also doing some sections through the terrain on this run, but after one short section at the beginning, I forgot. Can't have it all!
