Cycling 48:45 [3] 15.0 km (18.5 kph) +135m

Rode along the pipeline track from fern tree to the turn off to Cathedral Rock.

Running 1:30:33 [2] 5.6 km (16:10 / km) +750m 9:41 / km

Decided to do something new and go somewhere I've always wanted to but never got round to it so I decided on Cathedral Rock (a peak out the back of Mt. Wellington). Once I rode out to the track junction I hid my bike and headed down the track. The first km was straight downhill (200m drop) on slippery rocks to cross the North West Bay river then an endless grind (550m up) for another 1.5km to the top of the peak. Safe to say this was less of a run and more of a bushwalk (and in some places rockclimbing), but my legs are farked so I'm APing it anyway. Views from the top were well worth it though, with an awesome 360 deg panorama looking all the way down the Huon valley and towards the peak of Mt Wellington.
The final 200m back up to the pipeline track at the end sucked arse.

Running hills 7:30 [4] 2.0 km (3:45 / km) +170m 2:38 / km
ahr:150 max:179

Thought I'd give hills a go after learning how to use the advanced training function on the GPS. Programmed in 4x1min followed my 4x30 sec. Then when I got there decided that wasn't much so put 1x1min and 2x30sec after that. Bit of a mish mash but it worked pretty well, doing 1min after doing the 30s with 1min recovery sucked arse but it was the only time my heart rate got to a decent level. I'm gonna have a go at a pyramid next.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

Recovery between intervals

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Warm up/warm down before and after. Started raining as I finished and it was dark so cool down was the run back to the car!

Orienteering race 23:28 [3] *** 4.4 km (5:20 / km) +165m 4:29 / km
spiked:11/12c

Last Corporate Challenge. Scatter event on the Domain. We rarely get anything different from 'regular' courses I always enjoy the chance for a bit of variation. Good course, tricky to pick which controls to drop - I chose a slightly longer one with less climb and a lot nicer running.
Felt pretty flat tonight, but I think that has more to do with not much sleep this week - work sucks.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Cool down around the loop track. Starting to get dark and the gay pickup car park looked to be getting its first customers as I ran through. Rank.

Not Training 1:15:00 [0]

Last match of the season. Only 6 ends due to daylight savings. Played 'Tea Bags' and gave them a shellacking, won the first 2 ends by 3 points which gave us enough breathing room to muck around and try different things. They were winning one end by a couple and we got our skip to actually drive (he never does), it was a pretty ordinary shot that didn't go as planned but caused a ricochet chain reaction that somehow put us up by 2 for that end! Tea Bags weren't impressed and seemed to give up after that. Final score 14-3 and we won half a slab for winning by the biggest margin. Good end to the season.

Running 49:20 [4] 7.5 km (6:35 / km) +300m 5:29 / km
ahr:152 max:180

Another Tour. Waverly Park. Prick of a course set by some wanker. One leg had us trying to run up cliff faces it was so steep. Still more awesome than any course Lee sets. I won another downhill leg which is all that matters. Excellent to have 3m come along - bring on winter Tour.

Running 36:55 [2] 5.0 km (7:23 / km) +250m 5:54 / km
ahr:123 max:155

Run on the mountain with Leida and Pen. From Strickland Ave to O'Grady's falls and back via the Fingerpost track. Sun was just going down behind the mountain as we started. Going back on the track looking over Hobart as dusk kicked in was amazing. Got back just as the street lights were going on. Pretty good recovery run, although the first 15 mins was a long, long uphill slog

Orienteering race 1:13:40 [4] *** 11.0 km (6:42 / km) +300m 5:54 / km
ahr:169 max:179 spiked:21/24c

State series at Sandstone Valleys. I shouldn't have enjoyed this course. It was long, a large bulk of it was through paddocks and only a couple of the legs could be classified as 'Hard', but I still enjoyed it.
Still a couple minutes off the other guys, but was pretty surprised it was only 2 minutes (not counting Ryan, cause he's stupid) considering it was such a runners course.
The next person to tell me to run Elites at Easter gets a smack in the mouth.

UPDATE: Just looked at the splits, and although I only won 1 leg (out of 24), it was one of the few entirely in forest with no major catching features. Score 1 for Patrick. Greedy Ryan won about 18 (all the easy ones)
