Running 32:20 [3] 6.2 km (5:13 / km) +100m 4:50 / km
ahr:142 max:157

Had planned on trying out a track on the mountain I hadn't done before, but lots of showers kepts coming over so opted for a cruise along the pipeline track instead out to the noisy bridge and back. Nice and easy

Corporate Challenge at Knocklofty. Enjoyed the course, almost all on track with a fair bit of direction change which made it interesting. Knowing a kick arse wallaby track through bracken helped on the second last leg - gotta love local knowledge.

Running warm up/down 17:20 [2] 2.6 km (6:40 / km)
ahr:144 max:165

Control collecting/cool down. Stopped to smell the roses along the way. There are some kick arse views from Knocklofty. There's an awesome one looking towards Mt Direction up the Derwent. Made even better cause Bridgewater and Gagebrook are obscured.

Thought it was time to do some speedwork before Easter (although I considered it could possibly be taper time by now!).
Headed up to the waterworks with no real plan and decided on doing the track along the side of Upper Reservoir. Turns out to be alomst exactly 500m/2mins which is pretty slow but there is some climby bits and direction change. Did 6, prob should have done 2 more but wanted to get to bowls. Still feel like I can't really push myself when I'm running alone.

The other team didn't turn up, what a disappointment. We also had an uneven number of players so since I turned up last I was relegated to beer/BBQ/jack placement bitch while we played a 2 on 2 match of old vs young while I sledged whichever team was losing. Young uns won the first 4 ends until the beers kicked in and then the elder statesmen won a consecutive 8 ends including 2 perfect ends where they got all 4 of their bowls closest.
I found a garden gnome and added it to the green as an extra obstacle until it was decided if you hit the gnome it was worth a point. No one hit it.
Good evening of training.

Running (Tour De Hobart) 1:06:07 [4] 9.6 km (6:53 / km) +500m 5:28 / km
ahr:152 max:181

Longest and hardest TDH yet and one of the most rewarding. First time I've won a stage thanks to Nicko being there. Ryan still sucks big time on the downhills. Aliens kidnapped Jess recently and replaced her with a cyborg who is running too damn fast.
Feeling like I'm getting closer to my fitness level before going overseas last year, lets hope I can keep it up.

Running 55:00 [2] 5.8 km (9:29 / km)

Went for a run with H5. I used to run with them years ago, but the run seemed a lot shorter and slower than I ever remember them being. Still good fun though. It'd make a good recovery run so I may do them again in the future.

Cycling 1:36:50 [2] 35.0 km (21.7 kph) +250m
ahr:116 max:150

Decided a sleep in was more important than going to an even on a 20 year old map in Buckland, so went for a spin along the bike track. Got to the end and decided to keep going to Granton.
Awesome tailwind on the way back.
There was some bike thing going on at the start and the first couple of ks were littered with families, kids with training wheels and even a couple of tandem bikes totally clogging up the track, I did very well to keep my mouth shut.
