Orienteering race (Jasons Task) 39:00 [3] **** 4.5 km (8:40 / km)
spiked:7/9c

Day 1, St. Helens 3 day event. Wasn't sure what to expect after not running on a proper map for 9 months but found it surprisingly good. A lot of stop/start on legs I would normally barely glance at the map on so was surprised to only be a couple minutes down on the pack.

Note
rhr:40 weight:85.5kg

Just thought it was worthwhile noting my RHR and weight have both dropped.
I'm figuring the weights going down due to the fact I decided not to eat chocolate all week. That's been a problem with the endless charity bins around the office, I gave in yesterday just before orienteering cause I felt I needed the energy.
The HR's gone down from about 55 when I returned home from 9 months of no exercise - I spose I am getting fitter again, just doesn't feel like it.

Orienteering race (Corporate Challenge) 21:03 [4] 4.0 km (5:16 / km)
ahr:162 max:176

Nice easy course on the Domain. Felt a bit ordinary to begin with but got in the swing of it towards the end.
Ryan thought he could catch me but forgot about the last downhill leg, better luck next time....

Running 20:00 [2]

Collected controls from event. Glorified walking pace.

Running 40:00 [2]

Ditched orienteering for a run on the pipeline track. Went with Leida who's over from WA and a friend of hers. Very easy run - problem going with Botanists is they want to stop al the time and look and plants and berries and shit.

Running (Tour De Hobart) 59:14 [4] 8.6 km (6:53 / km) +450m 5:28 / km
ahr:153 max:178

Rosny. Joined today by weak footed Ryan and the pace seemed a little faster. Well set course with an cool 1km park loop at the end (guess who set it). Felt good but I just can't seem to run fast anymore - I can go forever and ever at a plod, but crank up the pace and I'm a withering mess.
Unless it's downhill, but I've got gravity on my side there!
Best part was Nicko coming last on half of the legs due to an inability to read the map (on tracks I might add)

Running - Trail race 6:00:00 [3] *** 29.0 km (12:25 / km) +1800m 9:28 / km
ahr:130 max:169

6 hour rogaine. Istead of controls you once you got to the location you had to identify a photo from a selection. Nice idea, but I probably wouldn't do one again - we spent over an hour total trying to identify some of the controls, mainly due to some fairly vague clues. Also lost points not being able to identify a photo halfway down a scrubby gully.
Still, a nice spot for a roagine - disappointed we didn't get time to go up Mt. Direction.
Feeling pretty good today except for a couple of blisters.
