Running 34:25 [2] 6.2 km (5:33 / km) +250m 4:37 / km
ahr:141 max:174 shoes: Mizuno Trail Bargain

Granada, Spain.
After a stalled effort in Seville, I'm back on the horse.
Short little jaunt around the maze of alleyways and streets in the Morrish quarter of Granada.
Sun was setting and the Alhambra had a nice orange glow. Found an interesting fountain, got lots of weird looks.
The surface here is so uneven with rocks this could almost count as terrain training, had a few dodgy ankle moments.
The area would make a kick arse Sprint area. Hilly as shit but absolutely no logic to the layout, few pedestrains as well.

Orienteering (Street O Training) 15:00 [1]
shoes: Thongs

Seville, Spain.
This is crap, but bear with me - you'll see it's training by the end.
We had to switch hostels our last night in Seville. As it was my birthday we went to the 'biggest waterpark in Europe' (it was crap) and had dinner at Pizza Hut (yes, I'm 12). It was around 9pm and we hadn't checked in when someone in our group mentioned that they sometimes give beds away if you haven't checked in by a certain time, (as everyone backpacker in the world seems to be in Spain in August, reservations are a necessity and waiting lists are massive).
As out food hadn't come out yet I decided to run to the hostel to make sure we kept our beds. I'd taken a photo of it's location on Google Maps and started making my way there. As I got about half way I realised I had subconsciously oriented the map to the north and was picking off features to get through the alley maze to the hostel. Then I went back a different way. So I'm counting it as training ;). And it counts as my run is Seville. (I would have done a proper run, but the after a month in Africa my system didn't handle the rich food here so well. Can't have anything to do with the cheap beer)

Running 49:43 [2] 10.1 km (4:55 / km)
ahr:159 max:184 shoes: Mizuno Trail Bargain

Tarifa, Spain
Beginning my trip resolution to go for a run in every European city I visit (climate and infrastructure permitting). was going to head for the hills, but when I noticed how fast the wind turbines were spinning up there I decided for an out and back along the beach. Glad I did, ran out to where the kite surfing schools are and got some good snaps. Headed out along some duck board that ended and I had to run through some mud flats, came back the whole way along the beach, but had to ford the lagoon river half way back, ended up waist deep so glad I removed the shoes. Beaut day for it, can't imagine winter right now!

Running 34:30 [3] 7.2 km (4:48 / km)
ahr:149 max:177 slept:6.0 shoes: Mizuno Trail Bargain

Casablanca, Morocco
Theres not much to see here so went for a quick jaunt. Peaking in the low 30s here, but it feels like a cool Tassie day after the past couple of weeks. Ran out along Boulevard Sidi Mohammed ben Abdullah, insert Team America joke here, then out along the coast and back. Not that interesting, but planned it so there would be few traffic crossings and no sections that smelt like arse. Definately felt the past couple of weeks not doing much; HR was getting pretty high for such a relaxed pace.

Will be taking my camera on every run from now on. Along the cost theyve built quite a high retaining wall and there were heaps of the young locals jumping off, playing a chicken game who could get the closest before getting smashed into the wall by the surf and body surfing - again, into the wall. The setting, with the surf, spray and the massive mosque in the background and locals mucking about was something out of guidebook -thing like that are so rare. Also one of those things youd never see doing the usual tourist things. A wise person told me you see the real city by going for a run in it - they were right. Good day.
