Running 43:00 [3] 8.7 km (4:57 / km)
ahr:167 max:190 shoes: Mizuno Trail Bargain

Bruges, Brussels
Ran the loop around the old city, longer than I expected. Flattest run I've ever done. Garmin reckons 270m, I reckon 5 if that. Lots of canals, gates and weirs to make the inner hydraulics engineer warm and fuzzy. Top day, cool and sunny - reminds me of Autumns in Tassie.
Almost got taken out by way too many bikes, Belgians are kamakaze on those things! Lots of Eurotrash out today as well.

Cycling hills 3:37:00 [2] 42.0 km (11.6 kph) +750m
shoes: Dunlop Volleys

Interlaken, Switzerland
Rented a mountain bike and rode from Interlaken to Gridlewald. Aweome ride. Slow as on the way there cause of all the hills and photo stops. Thought it'd be on the main road but there was a bike trail the whole way up that went through little villages, farms and along the river. Grindlewald itself is pretty crap - loaded with package tourists and the crap that they love, ie overpriced restaurants and souvenier shops. Decided to be a cycling wanker and stop for a coffee, all I needed was the lycra and it would've been perfect.

Not Training hills 3:23:00 [5] 6.7 km (30:18 / km) +1600m 13:49 / km
ahr:147 max:177 shoes: Mizuno Trail Bargain

Gimmelwald, Switzerland
Climbed Schilthorn, ascended from 1360m to 2970m. This kicked my arse right from the beginning - the first km took about an hour, good god they make theyre mountains steep in this part of the world. Dont know if it was the altitude or the beer I sampled the night before (they sell it by the boot here), but my heart was getting up to hill sprint levels at one point. Lots of cows and sheep with bells and lots of photos taken. Awesome day.

Running 50:00 [3] 9.5 km (5:16 / km) +300m 4:33 / km
ahr:149 max:176 shoes: Mizuno Trail Bargain

Barcelona, Catalonia (Don't call it Spain you ignorant buffoon)

Back on the horse again. Couldn't be arsed walking to where I planned to go today so ran it instead and it took a quarter of the time, which gave me more time for sitting on my arse and doing a much needed load of laundry.
Ran up Paral.lel and planned to go past the 'Magic Fountain', but got a bit mixed up on the streets and ended up below the Palau Nacional, which was better, the fountain was lame. Heaps of steps around the Palace, but they all had escalators alongside them - probably a leftover from the Olympics. ran to the stadium in the vain hope I could do a lap, but all you could do was look down on the oval from a cafe in the stadium.
Then headed up to the hilltop castle (unusual for a European town) and the was a little path with a joggin man on it so I followed him around for what turned out to be a nice little loop that gave a full view of the port on one side and the port on the other. Picked out all the Gaudi landmarks in town, still unsure what the massive blue phallus building is all about. Port was the massivest I've ever seen.
Fanged down the hill, got stuck on a long stairway behind a group of Swedish backpackers. I'm trying to decide which large group of any nationality I like the least, more on that later.
Good run, really felt like I've lost some fitness on this one - though it could have been all the hills/stairs at the start.
