Hagaby race at One Tree Hill (not the one in Basildon Essex).
Great course again. Feeling strong in my legs and in terms of my navigation. Whilst the terrain was open and fast it was difficult to always spike the controls - they often felt fiddly and you could easily mis 10 - 15 seconds in the circle.
Was in 3rd place until the last 2 k. I then got attacked by a barb wire fence which jumped out at me from nowhere. Took me a bit of time to untangle myself. Luckily realised that I had not done too much damage. Lots of blood but no really deep cuts (phew). Jogged back to the finish a bit shaken then headed off to the walking centre in Bendigo for a clean up and a tetanus booster.
Despite the self sabotage lots of positives to take away and I had great fun.

Mid arvo run before we headed for the Bendigo sprint. No real need for this but wanted to keep my Jantastic target alive. Kidded myself that by doing some strides and stretching at the gym it would make it more awake for the evening sprint. Kinda worked.

Sprint at Latrobe. Fantastic course but body and mind felt flat and I never did it justice. Quite a bit to work on mentally for next week's races but confident that the basic blocks are in place.

So my plan was to spring back from my hard day's training like a pheonix from the flames - but it I was simply a bit broken and tired. Just about got it together to go the gym but had no resolve to get a run in.

My 'long' run of the week. Feeling more fluid and spritely as the run went on; but had a bit of a energy hangover for the rest of the day.

Fantastic spring orienteering from Princes Pk. The group continues to grow and it there was lots of competition. Had a great time but could feel the early morning run in my legs (and head).
