Great long run up the now standard Win Hill, Lose Hill and Mam Tor route. Felt pretty wiped before the run but was happy to plod along. Lovely day for it. OJ and Petey were running well today.
Easy leg spin up Rivelin. Stopped to do some stretching at the bridge (my turning point).

Warming up and down; checking the course out on the way out and catching up on the gossip in respect of the best lines etc.

Lad's Leap - England Champs race 7th (and 1st team). Chuffed with this. My race plan was to go off hard and try to hang on to Lloyd for as long as possible. I stuck to this plan and was 4th at the top running in Lloyd's shadow; but he pulled away in the tougher single track trog. After swapping positions with Ben Abdelnoor I was 5th at the bottom of the first descent.
Had to dig deep on the 2nd big climb up a quarry path but could not stop being overtaken by Graham Pearce and a couple of others. Rallied and managed to re-overtake GP about 3/4 up (just after the stile) but started to feel pretty sick and had one dry heave. At the top I was in 7th and just tried to hold it together to the finish - which I just about managed to do. Nice way to start the season and top 5 is doable with a bit more practice (and luck).
Great to get the team prize (by 1 point) and a clear reminder that every place counts. I expect the DP team to all be a bit closer together at Coledale.
Run home then Foxdahl intervals (90/30) around a hilly route taking in Loxley, Stannington and Crookes. Went at 80% of normal effort so as not to kill myself for Saturday.
Drills with Clare and then bounds on Bolehill in the dark. Lots of strange looks from dog walkers.

Sprint intervals with Clare - map memory for half of them (because as she generously called it a "miscommunication"). Legs still sore, but flowing pretty well, can't say I was as focussed as I would have like though.
