Shining Cliff orienteering event. Did a long warm up (including having to run around and find someone with a spare map as they had run out) and then the Brown. Struggled to get into it because the map was antique and the terrain was "challenging." Generally went ok, but missed a couple of controls and was pretty sloppy.
Finished with a 30 minute warm down including 5 x 2 minute (1 minute recovery) around a nearby field.
Run from Bradwell (down in MK for our annual extended family catch up) on another gorgeous wintry morning.
Ran to the park run but I underestimated the distance resulting in me turning up after they had set off (about 2 minutes late - but I couldn't really tell as my Garmin had annoyingly turned itself off). Spent the whole run, making my way past people and just managed to catch the 2 leaders at 4k.
The course finished by a large lake and I did approx 2k of reps (100 double paces fast, 33 slow) around it.
Run to work in the morning feeling reasonably sprightly.

Run from work to Hallamshire. Then 1 mile up Loxley (which was lung searing trying to keep Tom and Tom in sight) up to Tricket's (?) where we did 7 x the long hill in about 1 minute. Felt quite strong on the latter reps. Easy run home with Pete and OJ discussing Dark Peak's world domination in the up coming fell season.
Run to Captin Tett's for the Hill race (visiting William Hill bookies - Middleditch would have been able to do it blindfolded). Good group and a fast paced effort. I could not read the map for the first few checkpoints so stuck with Tim and Rob L. Rob took off once we hit London Road and I tried to go after him. I made a couple of little misses in the town centre but was overall pretty pleased with my run. Never really managed to go full out but that suited me perfectly.
Nice curry after too.

Really slow plod home after a late night in the office. Followed by...
Lap of t'Flask with AndyT. Warm morning, with another cracker of a sunrise (and a full moon on the way out too). Andy was very excited to see the Dam full. Dissapointing to see them chopping down the copse on the side of the reservoir.
