great day of sport today with the Berlin Marathon (shame about the TV coverage) and the cycling world champs. Really impressed with Scott Overall's ran at Berlin and as for Cav - what a legend.

Long run with OJ and Candyman. At Alex's suggestion OJ and I took the train out to Edale and ran home. We picked up Candyman at Hathersage (he was inside Outside) who ensured that we kept the pace honest on the way home. I was flagging on the last section back along the top of Rivelin and was glad to see my front door.
Northern Road relays in H̶a̶r̶t̶l̶e̶p̶o̶o̶l̶ Birchwood. A pancake flat course around an industrial estate. The course was a convoluted 2 lap affair with lots of running up and down pavements and switchbacks - I was not a fan.
AndyT set us off well (and fastest Harrier). I was started off (5 seconds?) late by the officials in the bedlam that ensued with having the men and women finishing the first leg together at the same time. Annoying.
Felt very ordinary on my leg and had no turnover but that is not really a surprise.
We finished 25th so hopefully that will be enough to qualify for the Nationals. Results

Long run with Alex and OJ - up porter valley, skipped round Burbage, Redmires, headstone (almost), Rivelin and then home . Good to have some company. Tired by the end and just about made it in the light.
Track session. 2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2 with 1.15 recovery. Sometimes my lungs are the limiting factor and sometimes my legs - when I am fit I feel balanced. Today I definitely felt limited by my legs- but this is not a surprise.
We alternated one rep on the track and one off piste. Managed a 4.55 mile on the 5 min rep but this killed the rest of the session.

Run to work.

Run to track and then home again. It was lonely on the way home and Pete was (sensibly) playing it safe.
