Long run. Ran out from Bamford up Win Hill and then to Lose Hill. Really hot and sunny out and good to run with Candyman for most of it. Legs felt quite bouncy.

Drills. Was going to do this first thing but really couldn't muster the energy so waited until a few coffees had been consumed (and a trip into town taken). Actually felt good when I got going. Baps out for some of it.

Run to the start of the orienteering and then collecting controls in afterwards. Feeling a bit spacey towards the end as I had not eaten enough.

Orienteering. Legs had no zip and struggled to fully focus. Enjoyed myself nonetheless. Good extension by Tim and some tricky courses.

Steady run with Andy. Feeling pretty pasted when I started (partly because I had got up at 5.45 to book Olympic tickets) but slowly got into it as the run progressed.

Blackamoor fell race - got Bonded and Hodged. Toughie of a race with 2 biggish climbs. It was fun at the front when we got to the moor in that none of us really knew where we were going. Pete figured it out faster than the rest of us and I spent the rest of the race trying to chase him down. Got very close at the end but could not quite catch him.

Drills and bounds at lunchtime in Weston Park.

Run afterwork. Bumped into Andy C in Endcliffe whilst looking for Dave A and kept him company up the parks for a bit. Turned around after about 45 minutes in order to find the orienteering and then ran home via the Coppice track.

Great, fun course in the Botanical Gardens. Kept me on my toes the whole way. Missed the bear bit (again).

Run to work via Victor's. Disturbed a bird of prey - Sparrowhawk? - that swooped out of the bushes next to the path and dumped a rat at my feet. The rat was alive but not in a good way - its stomach was on the outside of its body.

Run to track and then home again. Run home was quite sociable including Dave, Pete and Andy C.

Running (Track) 20:00 [5] 3.0 mi (6:40 / mi)

6 x 800m with 200m jog recovery. Big group out tonight which was great. Started the session conservatively and gradually wound it up (once I was sure I wasn't going to blow up half way through the session). My attempt at sellotaping my watch strap proved surprisingly ineffective so did not take times - splits were roughly 2:24, 2:25, 2:20, 2:18, 2:18). Cheekily just tucked in behind Dave for the last 3 reps.

Early morning run with Andy and then onto work. Felt a bit clunky for the first 30 minutes.

Run home from work and then a bit of jogging after drills.

Running drills 45:00 [3] 1.0 mi (45:01 / mi)

Same drills session as Friday at the Sports Club. Focus on drills and bounding. Felt bouncier than this morning.
