Running race 22:40 [5] 4.56 mi (4:58 / mi) +83m 4:42 / mi

Northern Road Relays. Bit of a novelty running first leg - but it was good to keep getting pushed along. The course was undulating throughout - which was good, but had a couple of really sharp corners and turns - which wasn't. The course was also 1/2 mile short, which was quite impressive I thought considering it was basically run around the garrison which would have been easy to measure.

Pleased with my race, felt strong throughout, and even managed to get a few scalps today. Good running from a constantly improving HH team.

Running 2:30:00 [3] 19.5 mi (7:42 / mi)

Warm up and warm down. Lucky that Supersaint was going for a long run so managed to do 3 and a bit with him before hand and then a chunk afterwards. Roped in various HH guys on their respective warm up and downs so only ran by myself for a couple of miles. Last 3 miles was a struggle.

Morning run in the sunshine. Went to see the PaulF v MikeS smackdown at the parkrun. Both looking strong.

Then ran with Mike up to the gym where I did some drills and then ran home (via the bakery and the paper shop). Hip nipping again after the gym - not sure what I am doing to aggravate it. It is fine when I am working out.

14 mile marathon tempo up Rivelin. Working from home so mangaged to get out at lunch time. Gorgeous weather today - but a little windy. Right hip was sore (it was twinging after the gym yesterday) so did a more prolonged warm up with some stretching.

Session was tough; found the down hill section just as tough as the up hill and not running quite as fluently as a few weeks back. Solid enough though.

listened to new REM album (Collapse into now) on my runs today and the gym. Great album - alligator aviator a particular highlight.

Run around Damflask. Legs feeling better. Had to speed up towards the end as I was running late.

Run to gym (a bit extended) and then drills and then home.

Long run after work. Mr Little joined me. Felt that my training had been mainly horizontal recently so picked a hilly route - Uni, home, Worrall, Oughtibridge, High Bradfield, Loxley, home, loop around rivelin. Wet and misty throughout - almost zero viz at the top of worrall.

Run to work in the wet mist. Not exactly inspired this morning.

More steady running. Legs were feeling a bit brighter but body still feeling a little flat. Loads of runners out tonight - especially through the parks.

Run out with the good Dr Thake who is back in action again. Great to have some company again. We were both happy to take it slow and steady so just meandered up Rivelin and back.

Very easy run to EIS for drills. Took my time as wanted to give my legs a good run out.

Drills - came half way through so as not to kill myself. Good to get my legs moving.
