Early morning run to stretch legs. Chest was tight but not coughing up anything.

Eurggghh. Rubbish. McCain uphill running trial race. DNF. Got 5 k into the race and it was clear that all was not right. Had been fighting off a bug all week and felt rubbish. This is the first time I have dropped out a race in memory but figured that finishing it would be stupid and would only put me out of action for longer.

Good run from Rob L for 9th and Pete (with his new mug) toughed it out.

Although really disappointed I have been pretty lucky all told with my races this year so to have one where I was not on top form was going to happen at some point.

Note to self (again) - don't run a race if not feeling great.

Run home via the men's sprint race (version 3). My new course took me 2.6 miles to run so will chop off about 1/2 mile or so. Took it very steady as sore throat still lingering.

Was going to do Hallamshire session but was craving some hills so went up Loxley. Through in 6 x 1.10 to freshen up legs. Throat really sore and chest tight. Hoping to fight it off.

Run home and then out to Myers Grove for some intervals. VO2 session 5 x 1/2 mile with 2.00 min recovery. Legs feeling heavy but pushed though it.
