Running 1:50:35 intensity: (1:34:35 @3) + (16:00 @4) 17.0 mi (6:30 / mi) +270m 6:12 / mi
ahr:131 max:160

Run from Fairholmes around Derwent and Ladybower with Mike. It was fun for all the family as Clare and Gareth and Kelly and Emma went running too. Absolutely stunning. Felt perky all the way round and we kept up a good (but not crazy) pace up. Did miles 13 - 15 @ marathon pace and then mile 16 @ half marathon pace.

5 AM

Running 24:00 [2] 3.5 mi (6:51 / mi)

Afternoon run to make space for some burgers. Felt quite spritely and did a few strides.
12 PM

Running intervals 1:00:00 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (40:00 @4) 8.9 mi (6:44 / mi)

Foxdahl session around Eccie woods whilst Clare did some oing. It was a great day and I really enjoyed it. Never really "run" round the woods before and it makes a great loop for tempo running - good track and constant undulations.

8 AM

Running 43:45 [1] 5.14 mi (8:31 / mi)

Early morning run from the farm house. Candyman threatened to join me but there was no sight of him in the morning.

Thursday Apr 8, 2010 #

8 AM

Running 24:00 [1] 2.95 mi (8:08 / mi)

Early morning jog. Sun was shining. Lambs were bleating. I was not going to work. All was right with the world.
4 PM

Running warm up/down 35:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi)

Warm up and down for the sprint race. Extra long warm up as I had changed courses to ensure that I could get thoroughly beaten by OJ and GG.

Running drills 5 [2] 0.5 mi (10 / mi)

Drill before the sprint race.

Orienteering 28:34 [4] 3.75 mi (7:37 / mi)

Orienteering around Eden project. Loads of mistakes (one biggie , several small). Loads of steps. Loads of fun.

Running drills 1:20:00 [3] 13.0 mi (6:09 / mi)

Run down to Bideford and then along the Tarka trail to Instow and back. Tarka trail (which is something to do with a giant (?) Otter apparently) was pancake flat and tarmacked so it was road running tastic.

Running warm up/down 28:00 [2] 3.0 mi (9:20 / mi)

Warm up and down before track. Did some drills before starting off.

Running intervals 39:00 [5] 6.12 mi (6:22 / mi)

10 x 800m of Yasso intervals (with 90s recovery). Found a tartan track in Braunton (saw signs on the way to the JK) and felt that it would be rude not to do a session. It was windy and I was hungry before the session but ground it out. Frustratingly my watch refused to lap properly so I did not get all split but ran them all between 2.22 - 2.29. Average of about 2.27. Pleased to have got it done.

10 AM

Running 21:00 [1] 2.25 mi (9:20 / mi)

Warm up and down with Nails (and Nick B for the wd).

Orienteering race 23:04 [5] 3.5 mi (6:35 / mi)

JK relays. Good fun. Felt good throughout and was pleased with my orienteering. Once I got with Nails I became scrappier but just managed to get in before him. This orienteering lark is quite fun you know.
4 PM

Running 29:00 [1] 3.4 mi (8:32 / mi)

Easy leg stretcher with OJ and Candyman.
