Running 3:00:00 [3] 23.4 mi (7:42 / mi)

Long run with Paul Faulkner. Whilst we kept it steady the run was a bit faster than I was expecting. Ran out through Beeley (all the way along the new footpath at the bottom which will be great for some flattish intervals) then in to Wharncliffe, Greno and then back. Once we hit tarmac on the way back home pace increased slightly and we did a 5 mile spell round Kelham island. Felt tired by the end but not too wiped (and ran without brekkie). Good stuff.

Running race 43:08 [5] 11.5 km (3:45 / km)

Northern Cross Country at Blackburn. Solid race and my best Northerns result. Course really suited me as it had lots of climbs, only a little flat and it was pretty good underfoot. Was yo yoing with Rob L for most of the last half which pushed us on. Good team performance overall for 4th but 3rd was definately doable if we had got a full strength team out and it was good to see Camel making his debut. Girls won (again) and gave great support throughout.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Friday Jan 22, 2010 #

Running 10:00 [2] 1.2 mi (8:20 / mi)

Run to gym for some drills (outside) and some stretching (inside). Drizzly and wet - feels like Spring!

Running drills 10:00 [3] 0.5 mi (20:00 / mi)

Running 15:00 [2] 2.2 mi (6:49 / mi)

Reluctant run home. Was planning on treating myself and getting the tram but I found out before leaving that a bus had broken down in Hillsborough and they were stopping trams at Infirmary road.

Running 1:10:00 intensity: (1:06:00 @3) + (4:00 @5) 9.0 mi (7:47 / mi)

Run from work to HH and then did 2 x Pentagon. Feeling sprightly which was nice - so were Camel and Thom.

Running 38:00 [2] 5.2 mi (7:18 / mi)

Run to work - steady.
6 PM

Orienteering 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Putting out controls at Loxley. Freezing. First time I had put on my headtorch for a good year and a half. One of the bulbs broke and then the battery died (although it had been on a full charge). Maybe I can justify buying a new light?...

Running 18:00 [2] 2.5 mi (7:12 / mi)

Run to the gym. Groggy and foggy this morning.

S+C 50:00 [3]

Early morning session with OJ. Good to have some company for a changed and enjoyed the session.
6 PM

Running 52:00 [2] 7.0 mi (7:26 / mi)

Run to track and then home again with Petey and Rob. Pete said he had passed his exams - hara!

Running intervals 27:30 [5] 4.25 mi (6:28 / mi)

Track 4 x 1600m. Supposed to do 5 but was feeling it after the 4th so did not push it too hard. Did 400m of the 5th but called it a day. Charlie Spedding would not be impressed. On the positivge side managed to do them all under 5 minutes.
